Spottedlaurel
A shot of the Laurel at the Orwell Bridge (coincidentally of about the same age) can mean only one thing, I'm on the way to Shotley for an East Coast Retros meet. This end of year/10th anniversary do happily fell on a sunny Saturday when I was free, and the Laurel was cleaned after an abortive attempt to get to another show , so off we went. The field was pretty full and this is by no means an exhaustive record of what was there, just stuff that caught my eye.... The sort of thing I like seeing, an everyday car that's been local from new. Was apparently in storage with the son of its original owner until a couple or so years ago. More Italians. Think of the unclaimed glasses due to these not having been used. Wedges. The TR7 is apparently a genuine Sprint (SJW 550S). Reminders of what I've loved and lost. And still have in the case of my 2nd LS, and need to get sorted. Posh stuff. The Mercedes had rather funky paintwork. For sale at £2,995 after being saved from becoming a banger racer. A sign of the times that I gave it consideration, and if I didn;t have the LS400 to spend money on I might be making further enquiries. Nice to see these together, bet they sounded great. OSFs. I took far too many photos of the Capri earlier in the year. Escort looked good, another one on a local plate (before we lost 'CF' to another County). Good to see my friend Gary and his Cherry. A mate of his owns the lovely Crown. And someone else he knows has this fantastic Mk1 estate (with a Cortina estate neatly ending up behind it). Several of us commented how things like this would be squashed later in the day at the Banger World Final which was taking place nearby. Plenty of patina on this trio. More brown. The Escort van followed us on the way there. As a child of the '70s a Clubman will always be appealing. Tidy VWs. The Golf had some sort of neatly-installed Audi 2.0 FSI Turbo engine and was super-clean. The end, with this Crusader following us for a few miles. A great day out and good to see @triggeragain, with a few magazines etc purchased at the small autojumble, followed by an enjoyable cross-country drive home and a stop in a toy shop to stock up on Hot Wheels. danthecapriman, Shite Ron, ProgRocker and 24 others

Toe
Nice to see the sights, and a little script next to the pictures 👍 One day I'll make it there, but with which car, I don't know lol
wuvvum
Gutted I couldn't make it, but yesterday was the only day that welding mate was free to do the last bit on the Maxus and that had to take priority. I'd been hoping to give the Innocenti one last run out before the winter. trigger
trigger
Good to see yolu too yesterday Nigel, It was a great turn out, think we had 320ish cars in the end which is possibly our biggest all day meet yet, I didn't take any photos but here's some taken from our FB page. This thing was mega, definitely the biggest vehicle we've had on the field, the noises it made were just insane, apparently it does 4mpg! We had motorbikes too We had cakes and sausage rolls for our birthday! @Spottedlaurel making a entrance Familar! and lastly this Riva on air! wuvvum, Spottedlaurel, Dick Longbridge and 4 others

RoadworkUK
Damnit. This is a reminder that Facebook isn't entirely worthless. I had literally no idea this was happening and it looks pretty spectacular. Hats off to @trigger for making it happen. Well, getting the whole ball rolling, really. And giving Shotley a sense of purpose. wuvvum and trigger
