Those who are not aware, the town of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire is the home of the Pork Pie and Stilton Cheese.

During my visit to the vintage market, which was mostly people selling tat that wasn't vintage at all, I took some photos of the cars which have become part of the regular display during the event.

Anyone know what the purple thing in this photo is?

There's something naggingly familiar about it, which I can't properly place.  Poking about on the internet hasn't helped, suggesting it might be a one off or custom.  The other possibility is that it's a film prop or similar built on a working chassis and made road legal in similar fashion to the Judge Dredd cars.  There's a sort of generic science fiction look to it.  Anyone remember a film with a car like that?

Thanks all.

It's gloriously unusual, if a little challenging in the looks department. How Many Left website suggests 1 of 1 on the road so the chances of acquiring one are pretty minimal.

Yes I think it was a one-off; you can see it in a few different colours on Google but I get the feeling it's the same car at different stages of production, or maybe there was a prototype or something.
