maxxo
I’ve been painting today before, blistered paint and just looked a bit crap so yes, I decided I’d fix it, no real prep of course as per usual looked good halfway through, surprisingly good! laquer time im rather surprised at how good this looks, needs another coat of lacquer so will do that soon overall I’m relatively pleased im going to sort the rest of the bodywork, try to get it looking good otherwise it’s still working! Lasted long enough that my 6 months tax I put on it will need renewing soon wesacosa, chodweaver, Dyslexic Viking and 12 others
maxxo
something interesting i did do recently however i tried removing the kickdown cable for the gearbox as simply if you try to accelerate firmly it kicks down and revs up to 3.5k or so, therefore you have almost no acceleration due to it running out of steam here's a video of i'd say 70% throttle with no kickdown it's not a Tesla but it's pretty quick really! 311156277_468428395228483_3813382409382964792_n.mp4
Noel Tidybeard
if it wasn't needed it wouldn't have it- pit it back how you found it and stop fannying around with this halfhearted kick downs run out of steam at 3500- pah 4500 more like! press the fcuking pedal man! Well I’ll put it back once I adjust it to only kick down towards the bottom of the travel i don’t want it to rev too high, in case it breaks

maxxo
so, i popped the kickdown cable back on the other day and took it for a proper blast out, tons of clag out the back and was running better but..... ah shit buggery! 312079783_1071678996875803_7914559891300019467_n.mp4 i'm actually going to be sensible now and not drive the car until i've replaced the seals also, whilst i'm at it would there be any disadvantage in replacing most the under bonnet fuel hoses with new? they're not expensive and well, mine are a bit bodged and original Dyslexic Viking and Jim Bell 1

Because it might help. Or a manual or sketches of the diesel pump/ throttle. But if you post pictures with explanations of the problem, it might help us understand the problem? That's all I can help with unfortunately.
maxxo
Okay so the copper tube on the lid had slipped down slightly jamming it hammered that back in and we have a moving pump however, when assembled it runs away when started…..but it doesn’t leak so that’s a bonus im close to sorting it, I can feel it
maxxo
hmmmmmmm fuel screw works the opposite to how i'd expect, turn it in gets more fuel, turn it out less fuel i wonder if i turn it out a fair way and try it again i may get this sorted

maxxo
bolt came slightly loose on the throttle spindle no worry, it seemed to stick around 2,000 rpm so cruise control! ordered a top cup for the throtle spring as i dropped mine but otherwise, all is fine, idle a tad low but that's it runs great, no smoke, or leaks GagaStan and privatewire
