At Leeds

going well

Seems to be leaking coolant but otherwise it’s fine

not too far to go now

less than 100 miles

unless there is steam or a puddle could just be level dropping as it self bleeds (fingers crossed)

Yey. How's the long trip with new spheres and new belts going?

Or are the spheres tomorrow? I can't keep up

I decided not to do the spheres on this trip, this was in case of any issues etc

doing them next month

Well done! Um, what's that white line for, that you're straddling? 😁

There’s a new Audi parked next to me right on the line and a concrete post in the bay next to me

i thought I’d park like that so it’s easier for them to get in

I’ve only owned Citroens

My nervous system is shot

The sound of a beep gives me panic attacks

Same here.  I have panic attacks from the low fuel light coming on in the CXs, and a nervous tick from the c5’s bings and bongs alerts.

The beep of the early 2000s Citroen is enough to give you a heart attack as you nervously peak at the multi function display

for it to only say low screenwash

2k miles covered, been fine really

might have sussed the diesel leak, i think it's one of the 4 pipes going into the fuel pump, running down the front of the engine, covering the sump and goes everywhere

i managed to get half a turn out of the bolts on one of the very wet looking ones

so time will tell

finally could be arsed to take a look at the fan

faffed about removing it and yes, yes the transistor/resistor pack looked a bit old but nothing serious

wasn't siezed either

decided to remove the pack and take a closer look

ahhhhhh, the new one is shiny but the old one should still work right?

No description available.

until i turned it over

No description available.

the new one is the one at the bottom incase ya couldn't tell

yes, i'd say that's why it wasn't working

put the nice shiny new one in (£11 it cost me off ebay!)

and the result....

success!!!

now it does still seem a bit slow to start on speed 1, but i imagine once it's used properly it'll get better

but all in all, i'm pretty happy

The bearings in the fan can get a bit sticky and make the slow start difficult.

Later models (your C5 included) have a soft-start and when the bearings get sticky fail to start at all.

Jumping with a full 12V overcomes that but only temporarily.

How is it managing this level of emmpeegeees?

it shouldn’t be this good on fuel

In my totally non-scientific analysis of  emmpeegeees, i attribute it to the following factors:

Pointy nose

Whomping great diesel engine.

Same reason the ZX could deliver such economy, when Ford et al could only dream of such figures
