Almost out Coli M'Coli with this hunny...

The nerds amongst us will suggest that was registered at Slater's as the reg. plate suggests it was N.Wales registered and it looks like their sticker on the rear number plate.

Understand your point, Princess. But to add a bit of balance: AP is a new fellow here, and I'm extending the hand of comraderie and friendliness. I think we've played that out after a half doz to and fro's. No one's died. No fuzzy bunnies or chicklets harmed. This place has also a social side to it, and there's plenty of "chum" talk all around. It's all good, won't bug you more. Just a lil' slackness and tolerance in the future, 'K? And stuff like this will wind down on its own. But I do understand what you're saying.

True Norm, I didn't appreciate AP's a new bod. Sorry.

That Sierra has been on Ebay quite a few times now. I cant remember if it was in the ebay bargain thread a while ago but it was up for 2 grand or so! I did see it on the road a couple weeks ago and it looked and sounded great!

^ Horizon type engine in that 309...

WHOOSH! Check out this Sierra Ghia...

2.3 spazzmatron, what's not to like?

It's a Sierra, in a colour I wouldn't touch! Ghia trim, proper gearbox and the roar of a V6 are sadly not enough to compensate for these basic deficiencies. Now a Mk5 Cortina in Crystal Green, to the same spec... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Aye. No cambelt on the suitcase engine. Gosh though - that's got to be an early 309! Rare enough to see one with the pre-facelift rear lights. In the winning combination of beige with brown interior. I'm surprised I can't hear more salivating. Just throw the engine away, drop in a 205GTi lump and enjoy a fabulous sleeper!

What are you on about man? It's practically metallic beige with a brown interior. It's GORGEOUS! I always loved the smoked rear lights on these early Ghias for some reason. It's even got brown bumpers! I'd love it. (but possibly not quite as much as a 49mpg Rover...)

No cambelt on the Horizon engine, either!

I have my reasons, Ian... 1: I don't like Sierras anyway as I find them claustrophobic, which is something I suffer from (not too badly, thank goodness, I know many people have it worse). 2: I've always believed the Mk5 to be a better car to drive. After two and a half years with my Mk5 I had my hands on two Sierras (pre and post facelift), all 2.0 so comparisons were valid, and neither Sierra was able to change my mind on that. 3: You know how some people believe green cars are unlucky? Experience has taught me that any shade in the brown spectrum is unlucky, for me at least. And that goes all the way from plain-chocolate to primrose yellow.*

I'm aware that these are only my opinions and I'm in a minority with them, but hey, I've aired them now. You, or anyone else, may choose to love a gold Sierra, and that's your right; indeed some should be preserved, especially one as nice as this one looks. But it won't be by me, even if I was in a position to.

*(Points at current X1/9) gold over black. Since we bought this Mrs hasn't been well enough to drive it, despite it being a special purchase for her. Now it looks like she won't be driving at all. You can see why I might feel the way I do!

When was the last time you saw the other one of these that they sold?

In the spirit of public service I feel duty bound to make comment just in case any shiters are thinking of bidding.

This car 'may' have had very recent bodywork/respray done - I say 'may' as an identical car (same model/colour/wheels was in the bodyshop across the road from my work a couple of months ago - I don't recall the reg so can't prove it either way but there can't be many near identical examples in central Scotland. It may be perfectly innocent and indeed it my be a entirely different car but just be aware.

That is all.
