That's mad. You'll never see another but, even so, at £5K classified it's one for the Bargains thread ain't it?

This looks cheap on ebay

1995 Celica failed MOT on a ball joint £350 at the mo with no reserve

Item number: 220874236869

By the time I've worked out how to post a pic it will be gone!

Edit

And that's what it went for. Well done that bidder.

"Would look cool slammed on big inch rims."
:shock::shock::shock:

NO IT FUCKING WOULDN'T! How much cooler could it look than it already does? You can't buy patina like that! Somebody save it from the rappers and a life of rubber-band tyres. Although, being a Cadillac, it's probably got soft enough suspension to cope...

55 plate, for practically nothing! I smell daily-driver for a Shiter....

I could see this being a handy tool for a carer living in Barrow, say...

And this is even handier!

Ex- US military police... I had the previous model Lumina, which was a real pleasure to drive. This just ticks so many boxes...

Actually, I have seen another - in Durham. Wonderfully odd.

Something looks a bit odd about this Phantom.

Numberplate hasn't come up on DVLA as a Roller and not at all on Cartell.

Wheelbase is too short for the wheelarches. Buyer beware!

Posted

It's rather blatently a Rolls Silver Spirit with some rather distasteful Phantom mods, though the number plate does indeed not come up on DVLA for Rolls or Bentley.

Posted

It comes up on askMID as a 'ROLLS ROYCE SPIRIT PHANTOM'. (It's an M-reg, not a 10-reg - that's a 5 not an S, so expect to get pulled over for an embarrassing number plate spacing conversation.) It's so crap there's a little bit of me that quite likes it; thankfully it's not the bit that gets allowed anywhere near the cheque book.

Is it illegal in the UK to sell a car with cop lights?

It's eBay policy I think rather than any legal prohibition (although obv. you're not allowed to use cop lights unless you're a cop.

Legal prohibition too...........

Blue Lights

Regulation 16 Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989

Only emergency vehicles and vehicles used for special forces or police purposes may be fitted with blue lights.

Emergency Vehicle includes a vehicle used for fire authority, ambulance or police purposes, an ambulance, Blood Transfusion Service and human tissue transport vehicles, HM Coastguard, RNLI launch vehicles, Mine rescue, RAF mountain Rescue and certain HMRC vehicles.

For the purpose of this regulation ‘fitting’ includes lamps which are masked over and those without wiring - See Regulation 4.

Indeed, some of the dicks from the Land Rover 'Society' local to me tried to get around it by claiming their ex-Dibble Discoveries were "vehicles of historic importance" which is why they wanted to keep their blue flashy light bars and big orange stripes.. Didn't work, no matter how much the club committee members moaned about it or how many times they wrote "Lights not in use" on the covers for their light bars. At the end of the day, you get some tosser driving about with a yellow hi-vis jacket in an ex-Dibble car and if they've got blues'n'twos they're gonna eventually use them. Even if they don't they should be blasted full face by the sawn-off shotgun of the law (should that be SORN-off in the case of a car?) for impersonating the Dibble.

Aye, but it's only illegal to have them fitted whilst driving on the public highway. It's not illegal to own a vehicle with blues'n'twos as long as it's not driven on the road with them fitted.

Yep. If someone is that sad that they want one as an ornament then that's their business......but you just know that if eBay relaxed the rule and allowed the sale of police vehicles complete with lights it would only be a matter of time before the country was littered in twats using them on the road. When police vehicles go to auction all markings and such like are removed to try to avoid it happening.....and that's a good thing.
