Likely outcomes:

1) bought by knuckle-scraper, coated in dulux, destroyed.

2) bought by youthful 'scene' type, enthusiasm exceeds ability & money, turned into half-arsed rat / RWD DRFT thing, destroyed.

3) bought by a Datsun "enthusiast" and locked away in a shed for the rest of time to 'keep it safe' while it steadily decays...

I remember when Datsuns like that were everywhere. There was even one destroyed in "Neighbours." Now it's an event to find one, and yes, I know of one here, sitting in a front yard. Now the road works have finished in that village I must get a pic....

Yes scoobypete it was mine.I sold it to him a couple of weeks ago.I serviced it and did the waterpump and had the head skimmed. If you look in his feedback you will see my description was a lot more accurate.Didn't leave me feedback though.Haha the V5 still sits on the sideboard ready to be posted.

I prefer my nights out to end in an ambulance-not begin in one.

I think the Violet is fairly safe from the oval, he's asking a grand on the Datsun Club forum. You're right about them being locked up though Pog - I think mine's the only one that ever sees light of day.

This is £975 ovno with a years mot, It seems like a bit of a billy bargain to me.

^ It's a spottedlaurelmobile! £1000 doesn't sound that badly priced neither.

Funny to think that my generation was still on sale at the same time as that. Bet the driving experience is a fair bit better!

^ strong starting price on that Talbot considering the described condition

True dat. I sold mine for £350 with T&T.

Well he's at least £700 in profit already and it still hasn't hit it's reserve.

You can see some time has been spent on it though, and add in collection then listing costs and he's not yet printing free money as it were.

I can't think of much less appealing than a 1.4 Astra. Maybe a 1.7 atmo diesel one.

Oh, it was dismally slow but seemed to go a phenomenal distance on a tankful of pez and never broke down... which was good. At the time I was working mostly nights on the tube driving 500 miles a week to work & back and didn't have a pot to piss in, so it did me just fine.
