It’s a Morris double cab pick up! (Although on a j plate a true commercial of this age might confusingly even be badged as an Austin)

Current status here is heavily BL with a 73 marina 1.3 auto, 77 dolomite 1500HL and an 80 ital 1.7 , the dolomite needs the least work,,and its a sharp curve up for the marina and ital,,,eventually I'll get onto them!

Very nice fleet you got there.

Some temptation there! If I had not recently bought a Mercedes I would have bought the red Montego, I believe the owner wanted £500 which seemed good in the current market.image.thumb.jpeg.b9d142122f38eac56fe0463896ce9276.jpeg

That blue Montego, I would if I could. Very similar to the one my Dad owned in the 90's.

Minis definitely still can be had for semi reasonable prices. I watched this one till the end expecting it to shoot up. I resisted bidding as after the Midget debacle, buying a random car site unseen has made it much less appetising proposition. But from the photos this looked pretty decent.

I also desperately want this. First appeared on my local FB marketplace search, then on Mini groups I'm on and now finally eBay. Wouldn't be surprised if it sells not too soon as I don't think it's too far off the mark for such an early one.

I'm mean the heart wants what it wants and all that but, smart as they are, I just don't get the money that's in minis. For example I wouldn't swap any of yours for one. Still though, that's the point I suppose. If you want something, nowt else will do. I wanted a mini when I bought my first car. Couldn't afford one even then (1998). Ended up with a mk1 Uno. Clearly a better car than a mini in every way, but it still wasn't a mini.

Absolutely bloody love this. Unfortunately it's being sold by the fella I tried to buy an A40 off over Xmas. To say he's a bit miserable is an understatement. Does get some nice looking stock in tbf

Some pictures from my archives. My archives are totally random so it's a case of pulling some albums out and seeing what's in them, so these are in no particular order.

My first Landcrab. I'd walked past it many times in a council car park in Shirley. I walked past one day and it had a notice of removal from the council stuck on the windscreen so I left my own note on it expressing an interest. Got a phone call the same day. Went back and agreed a price of £80. I drove it home there and then to park it up in a different council car park. Needed lots of welding but I got a couple of years out of it before the tin worm won. This picture was outside a friends house in Hastings. He had it on loan for a while when fleet numbers were getting out of hand.

And this is the car park it ended up in. These were all mine. I didn't always park them like this, I generally spread them out across the estate so as not to draw too much attention to them but it was the middle of the day so most people were at work so I brought them together for a photograph, no other reason.

And this wasn't the entire fleet, there are no Triumph 1300s here and I haven't been without at least one 1300 since 1991.

Here's the Austin out and about. No idea where it is but it obviously looked photogenic.

The 3-Litre belonged to a friend of mine.

And this is in a quarry somewhere on Portland. The P5 belonged to the same friend who had the Austin 3-Litre.

I would say he had more expensive taste than me but none of these cars were more than a few hundred pounds. I think the Austin was £800 but he had that one a quite a long time. The Rover developed gearbox problems and was moved on quite quickly but was nice while it lasted.

Went to Moss yesterday after work to pick some bits up. Primarily ignition parts as I've found them to be a good source of quality bits. I always get the HQ condenser and a red rotor. Interestingly they are now branded clearly Distributor Doctor. Presumably with so many copies about, he wanted to make sure it was clear what you were getting.

Neat little picture in the moulding underneath.

For anyone who is near a Moss branch, they are having an open day on the 28th May. Coffee, tea and cakes with a chance to get a look around their warehouse plus 15% off on the day. I think I'll go to the Bristol branch if I remember.

While I was waiting for bits, I took a few photos of their Mini that they have out on shows. Naturally it was rusty.

More surprisingly is that it had previously been restored with over-sills rather than proper sills. So probably even more crusty under there.

I had a blond moment. Messing about with the fuel system ignition on a touching the posi lead on the battery to run the fuel pump. Happy with my alteration I jumped in to go for a drive. Why won't it start? Why is it cranking and not firing? What's broke now? Oh, just pop the coil lead back on then...

If it makes you feel any better, I forgot to put one of the plug leads back on the BGT and drove off. Felt like it was missing but it wasn't terrible. Checking under the bonnet, I saw my mistake.

Yeah, might have done that too
