DBrown67
I'm attending this Saturday, but it's the first time since it was in Berkshire when I camped over in Field of Dreams. Great weekend that! However, I've noticed that the paperwork I received for 2022 states that gates open at 9:30am. That seems rather late to me. I'm booked in the concours section and was wondering if the gates open before then for exhibitors? I'm planning to arrive about 8:30 and if I have to wait/queue then so be it. If they wait till 9:30 then everyone won't be in/settled till about 11:00? I did send this question by email to the Hagerty events section but I've had no reply. How did this transpire last year? Front lowering springs were fitted which went well. Car sits much better now. Did around 100 miles in it and it burst a shock. Presumably the old surface of the shaft has went down and ripped the seal. Car now bottoms out on most bumps. This was of course after sorting the radio, fitting new injectors and ignition leads, cleaning and polishing the car inside and out and packing our stuff for the trip. Shit. Options: take the Mrs 2009 Accord and park in the pleb parking at FOTU. Or dig out the ratty 205 with a coolant leak and a hot start problem, from under a tarp and take that the 700 mile journey. Not really a choice is it? So this morning at 8am when we were supposed to leave I was getting a relaxing facial of coolant and muck. I had a straight bit of stainless to replace the usual shitty coolant pipe. I got the diameter wrong, but I have a big hammer and an angle grinder. @Lacquer Peel came over and saved the day with new hose clamps. Wash the car? Fuck that. Happy little 205 raring to go. Ready to go. Now in convoy with @Lacquer Peel down the M74 listening to synthwave. See you all tomorrow. mat_the_cat, Schaefft, Ted Eggs and 13 others

wesacosa
made it from South London to Grantham for overnight stop. The traffic was horrendous the whole journey, not the best time to be stuck in 32 degree heat with no Aircon and only the sunroof and rear drivers window functioning. I also had to pay that sniveling weasel Sadiq Khan £12.50 as someone's van decided to BBQ itself in the Dartford crossing queue meaning I had to go through the Blackwall tunnel Hope to catch a few of you at the show tomorrow

Schaefft
Arrived at our stay in South Witham which is about 10mins from the entrance tomorrow. Originally thought the front passenger caliper was binding but all good, zero issues on our way down here which wasn't guaranteed! Saw some chod on the A1, a very clean Talbot Horizon followed by a Rover 400. RoadworkUK, wuvvum, RayMK and 3 others

JJ0063
Bit gutted to not be attending this year but having no worthy display vehicle and not knowing anyone to talk to renders it a lonely day out on my own so have decided against it. Spurious
Having to get up early'o'clock to get to this. Muggins booked the Air Bnb for tomorrow night instead of tonight. Still, 2hr jaunt down. Might have to skip breakfast depending on how early I drag my arse out of bed. I hate early starts.
