Inca-mpetent
Since I couldn't really find a thread to post it, and did want to share, I guess I'm creating my own thread of stuff I am working on To start things off, my 1991 Peugeot Rapido is finally ready to go on the road after nearly 5 years. Inca-mpetent
Things to do:- get some new stickers made(maybe), since the old ones are worn-limit the speed, as it does 50-55km/h at the moment, and 25-ish is allowed-more to be added as I find itSent from my Redmi Note 9 Pro davehedgehog31

Inca-mpetent
A definite thing that needs looking at.......It doesn't consume fuel too muchHeadlamp bulbs, on the other hand, are a favourite snack, it seemsThey don't last a day, and at €2 per bulb, that's quite costlySo, either I need to sort that, or get my hands on a truckload of B26S lampsSent from my Redmi Note 9 Pro AnnoyingPentium

We had a bayonet light fitting in the house that was worn out and didn't allow the bulbs to seat properly. They kept blowing as a result. The same goes for my light up make up mirror, which blows bulbs frequently owing to poorly designed electrical contacts. Incandescent bulbs shouldn't be sensitive to changes in voltage, within reason, but seem to blow at any sniff of a short circuit.

The bulb holder is fine in this case, as it doesn't exactly twist inThe negative terminal is a ring on the lamp, which connects to the reflector. The positive terminal is at the back of the lamp, to which a metal strip connects, which also holds it in placeBtw, it wasn't B26S, it was P26sSent from my Redmi Note 9 ProSaid bulb:

Zelandeth
That thing is fantastic, love the colour scheme. Worth checking the system voltage to make sure your headlight bulbs aren't being nuked by way more volts than they're designed to handle. No idea where the regulator would be on one of these. sdkrc

Inca-mpetent
The moped gave me quite a scare today, which may be my own stupidity.I was driving home from some errands, and the spark plug shot out of the engine all of a suddenEither it wasn't tight enough, or there are bigger problemsStill, the grin of driving it hasn't been wiped off of my face.Sent from my Redmi Note 9 Pro
Zelandeth
Is 25kph really the limit allowed for that? That just seems ridiculously slow - to the extent that I could keep up on this! It tops out at 15mph under electric power on the flat - though with our hyperactive husky attached I've seen north of 30 on the speedometer at times! Inca-mpetent
Quick Rapido update: Ordered a new voltage regulator in Monday, which arrived today at my dad's (as he's home most of the days, and I'm not), and he was kind enough to drop it off at my work(where the Rapido and I were), and I replaced it, and the lightbulbs(headlight, tail light, dashboard illumination) on my break. And during the drive home I kept an eye on it. Seems to be working properly now Still to do(kinda urgent): -horn. button is probably f*cked, so either order a new one, or reroute to another switch, Also still to do (not a priority): -New starter motor -Get a set of stickers made, as the current ones are worn(only if I have some spare cash) Sent from my Redmi Note 9 Pro Six-cylinder, D.E, Low Horatio gearbox and 2 others
Inca-mpetent
More good news, horn is fixed now The one that was on the Rapido is dead Pulled a 2CV horn from the parts bin at work, got it going on my break, mounted it in the glovebox, wired it up, and boom, I have a very loud horn now Botch-job well done, if I may say so myself I also fitted a 12V socket in said glovebox, when I got the Rapido, back in 2015, which is good for charging my phone LightBulbFun, Flat4, mk2_craig and 4 others

Inca-mpetent
Bought the thing in 2018 for €350, used it once to find out what's wrong with it.Turns out, having to get up in the middle of the night to tape the roof back together isn't good, so restitching is needed. That stove is missing a nozzle for a gas hose, which I can probably work out.Might consider fitting a CEE connector and an outlet in itSent from my Redmi Note 9 Pro AnnoyingPentium

Inca-mpetent
Fucken yasssssss. It's not roadworthy, though. It hasn't run for 1,5 years, and there's an aftermarket immobilizer that's missing it's decoder thingie, the MOT ran out in June last year Also, it won't be a long-stay car.I dabble in the car trade whenever I can get something cheap, which I could probably sellSent from my Redmi Note 9 Pro AnnoyingPentium
bear-in-the-air
I have a soft spot for those, plus its a 2.0 which is a touch more rare. Good luck sorting the aftermarket immobilizer, they can be a nightmare sometimes. Low Horatio gearbox
