If it was then it didn’t follow the trend of every other car that Mercedes produced at the time.

That’s correct, for some reason they were all called 190

190 for carb

190E for injection

190D for diesel,

available with 1.8, 2.0, 2.3, 2.5 and 2.6 litre engines but the name stayed the same regardless, which was ofcourse completely different to any other Mercedes model at the time.

Why they did this I don’t know.

Because there’s already a 330 and it’s one up from that. 330d is single turbo and 335 is twin turbo
They went astray from their numbering/displacement system years ago. Wasn’t the E36 323i a 2.5 and the E46 318i a 2.0?

It started with the E23 7 series in 1980. 745i was a 3.2 turbo straight six

Just ordered 10 litres of oil, an oil filter and a fuel filter so it’ll be freshly serviced too.

Brilliant.

Luckily they’re sending a replacement 5l so il actually have 4.5 ltr spare from the split one plus I think the car only takes 8l so il have a good 6l in the shed which is handy.

I’d just made my mind up to keep this.

Mate who I sold my old 5 series to messages me to say he’s about to buy an M2 Comp and do I want it back cheap as he knew I said I missed it.

Fuck sake.

Yes I want it back.

Anyone want to make a sensible offer on the E92? I’d need £6250 out of it absolute bare bones minimum.

You could get an E21 316 that had a 1.8 as well IIRC.  And the E28 525e was a 2.7.  The rot set in a long time ago.

They're still at it , neighbour has just picked up a BMW 330 hybrid

I asked if it was 3.0 hybrid , no it's a 2.0

I had a pair of 275 /30/19 " fitted to mine before christmas. I wanted goodyear - I was told supplier only had one - tracked another down in Yorkshire. It tells me that people generally only want budget tyres.

I have had a nightmare trying to get another Advan, everywhere was middle of next week earliest so as I’m skint and it’s not pay day yet I managed to find one of these part worn tyres adverts on Facebook who said they had the right size with lots of tread for £30 fitted… gets me out of the shit for a few weeks but Jesus Christ, they don’t even have a balancer, and their tyre machine absolutely destroyed my paint so I’ve had to just spray it Matt black for the time being.

I tried to get a sneaky pic to show the type of place this was.

Oh well, £30 to get me temporarily back on the road is OK, I’m now sporting 3 AdVans and a ‘Road X’….

New set of Brembo pads and I finally have no dash lights!

With one fix comes another fault though.

Think I’m just going to have a new set of boots all round and be done. That’ll be another £500 down and probably £70 for alignment as it must be out a fair bit.

Oh and this is what BMW class as needing to be changed. Bloody ridiculous. I didn’t even have to wind the piston back to get the new pads in!

Should have just changed the sensor but when it came up on the dash I just thought I’d order pads and the sensor without physically checking the pads first.

Decided to just order 4 decent brand tyres on the credit card and be done with it. Realistically this car won’t sell and I’ll be keeping it.

I have £0 on the credit card and 0% for a year so I’ll just get the lot done and be done with it, £50 a month for 10 months and it’ll be out the way.

Fucking cars.

Mildly pissed off

Get a message via the other halves FB someone responding to the FB ad I’d posted. Recognised the name as a friend of a friend and he only lives 10 mins away so was ideal. Spoke at length, he asked me every question under the sun and for a million photos of every piece of paperwork etc so was as polite as can be. Organised a viewing for yesterday evening

Turns up when he said, looked round it, I took him out in it, said he needed to have a think as the miles were higher than he wanted.

Then proceeds to say that what his plan actually was, was that he’s found a very similar one with lower miles for sale but it’s over in Northampton, so as he’s never sat in one or looked round one before he thought it would be handy to see mine so he knows what they’re like, before going to view the one he plans go buy?!

Could’ve slapped the twat.

I experienced that years ago selling a Volvo estate, which had been my brother's.

Chap tried mine, but was going to look at a lower mileage one.

He then came back to me a week later as he felt mine was the better one. I had great delight letting him know mine was sold.

Hopefully the same thing happens for you.
