STUNO
Thanks datsuncherry for the Escort photo. Lucky fellowsNow if you could just steal that black Zephyr estate and post it to me I will be very happy, the cheque will be in the mail but will be for a few thousand more than postage. Can you just get cash and send the balance to me.The cheque will be sent as soon as the Zephyr is in the post(I think that's how it's done!!!!!).Mk 4 Zephyr = two headlightsMk 4 zodiac = four

seth
Wow, fantastic pictures as always. I do hope that Oxford is OK. It looks like a really sound one and if there's only minor damage should therefore be OK as prices for good ones have defeinitly reason in recent years. I suppose it might depend whether he's got sympathetic classics car insurance or not.
Spottedlaurel
Lovely selection as ever DC.How did you end up doing something with the E-Type? Work-related, or just passing and you looked helpful? I imagine quite a bit will be going to Europe due to the current exchange rate, friend was telling me recently about a Dutch chap who came and took a van and trailer-load of Harley's across the North Sea.Interesting to see the 929 estate with what looks like a Kent plate, those E-platers almost all seem to have been registered by the importers. CortinaDave
I'm willing to bet that that sierra estate once had a black grille.. it has the other Prison-spec traits... dangly mirrors, hubcaps instead of wheeltrims etc.. and quite early on an A reg too.I bet almost every pov spec sierra owner quickly painted their grille. All it needs is a rattle can of halfrauds satin black.. job done
Guest
I would agree, I reckon that's a genuine Sierra "base" which needs to be restored to black grille scummer spec with immediate effect. Amusingly, Hadrians still list that grille which I assume comes unpainted for instant povvo-spec action.

reallyloud
That Mazda was spotted in Christchurch, can easily leave the proverbial note under the wipers if you like. Went up to Coventry on Friday, to the Race Retro event at Stoneleigh. It's quite expensive for what it is, and I missed the weekend only Rally displays but I made the most of a day out. It was mostly classic racing/rally cars, but there were a few surprises that came up. Be warned - there are loads of images coming up - but these are only 50% of what I saw.                          http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3447/3355138976_e678884531_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3662/3355139090_40420b9bcc_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3253/3354319469_2678755318_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3539/3355140132_baffc7430b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3050/3354318535_048ff2a5b3_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3442/3355138780_886ba255ee_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3464/3354321939_e3bd458cbb_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3597/3354321355_95cbd5bc1e_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3473/3355141994_f0c4bc2d39_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3426/3354321175_67f28a769d_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3592/3355141592_b366a7532b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3572/3354320771_85f8927eb3_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3422/3355141088_af3a486d63_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3563/3355140998_cddc742a62_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3636/3355140924_a94d598a73_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3631/3355140748_358b0e1c16_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3612/3355140574_315a0656c2_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3475/3354319531_285a235e27_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3599/3355139888_661278cc72_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3579/3355139802_b985e60717_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3600/3354318941_9732c299f1_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3544/3355139594_d84851b874_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3452/3354318743_feb68cd627_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3106/3355139400_703e781cc2_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3427/3354317853_578e27d5ac_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3577/3355142204_3e1f0ebf20_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3453/3355140058_7045dfa4e0_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3025/3355139970_cb6c10815a_o.jpg

55bloke
Absolutely superb!! Surprised to see that Riley 1.5, had no idea anyone ever used them in motorsport! The Mini pickup and clubman are both superb- and I wonder what's under the bonet of the Moggy-is that a Ford blue oval I see on the boot? Also, loving the Renault Alpine, and the 5 turbo with the cool front end treatment. reallyloud
Finding myself making the most of living comparitively so close to goodwood - I can't fault it for acommodating my car photography fix. As mentioned by Sir Bick on here, there was a 'Family favourites' day out at Goodwood - its pretext for 'cars with 4 seats' really, but still worth attending. Free too. As per usual I took hundreds of shots, here's a sizable selection. No surprises really, but the quality of restoration and maintenance was a real inspiration for me to get things done here.   Amongsts the Porsches, BL sports cars and lotus's in the car park, this stood out as my favourite. Mystified why it wasn't actually in the enclosure.         Rarely photograph minors, but this reminded me of the days when these cars were dirt cheap.         I remember this from my Observer and wondered if it existed. Always a small crowd around it.      3 early Volkswagen type 3's in one place - quite a few beetles and vans too.    http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3608/3418551913_fd9f8da6c4_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3397/3418551383_9cc6567c14_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3305/3419359018_6eb75ba876_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3614/3419358564_8dd7fa654c_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3642/3418549971_01f240c0ef_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3562/3418548697_e6135ea78a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3610/3419356442_8592dc08a8_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3661/3419355840_0098e40e08_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3344/3418547051_c3f6572d1a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3363/3418546841_35e65c5a20_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3566/3419354864_46a1bf12a9_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3382/3418544307_46c7535df8_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3381/3418544861_8c4a31197b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3312/3418543741_6edd6e34e9_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3377/3418543371_2434403f2a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3335/3419350812_2d67e6ba5b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3539/3419349840_4d9840c642_o.jpg First stag I've ever snapped. I didn't even realise it was possible, judging by the amount of people who have re-registered under different names! SmileI was based up there until last October, my plan is to remain in the south for the time being. The name change was fairly simple - I contacted the admin on here and they did their admin stuff.  I have another sizable chunk of images taken over the last couple of days. They're distinctively non shite, but I will make up up for it in a forthcoming spots thread. The first lot are from Saturdays Classic Alfa Easter Track Day at Goodwood, it was mainly for Giulia and Giuletta based cars.    The owner of this late Montreal spent a small fortune on a major restoration but clearly wasn't afraid of thrashing it around the track - he got up to 120mph on the straight.  One of about 6 Red GTV's.       This didn't race. I had no idea they were made up to C reg.    Another one that surprised me a little. Again I had no idea that these were imported into the UK - its RHD.             Oddball Nova kit car - normally fitted with VW air cooled lumps, this one had a Alfasud engine. On Sunday I travelled to Thruxton to attend the BARC race meeting - all sorts of different events - MX5 racing, Morgans, 250cc Supercarts and the main reason why I went, the classic/historic touring car championship.    http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3369/3435681707_651794230e_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3654/3435680767_54bbf41b94_o.jpg This was very cool, very well driven and hugely entertaining to watch. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3575/3435681927_3448977a74_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3546/3436484638_b7dec4ed1a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3589/3436484532_91e4ffd0e7_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3338/3436484316_026a140f1a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3614/3436484226_d79e9372a1_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3649/3435680883_b5e1e6f56b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3400/3436483732_0c8df7499c_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3565/3436483586_920137380a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3622/3436483474_c228d5558a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3629/3436483340_49a8c06f28_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3644/3435680183_1126941081_o.jpg This had to retire early due to gearbox issues, but most of the cars were generally reliable. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3639/3435680043_9b26d08146_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3361/3436482946_998ac4a2b4_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3635/3435679803_dafbf50738_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3617/3435679649_04f48cf1f3_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3411/3435679403_6345e45b9f_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3297/3435679303_b1dca67f93_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3316/3435679171_e49f4a673b_o.jpg E30's along with 205 GTI's are probabily the best entry level cars you can drive to compete. I wonder whether if E30's become as sort after as Escorts one day? http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3330/3436482076_4e5abe9259_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3393/3435678569_0fc36b6da9_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3631/3436481438_317991ebf2_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3309/3436481250_9c80afaf02_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3316/3435678167_6befe9b896_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3649/3436481018_4226067e0c_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3344/3436480900_bd73e36f30_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3404/3435677751_75c91c12eb_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3560/3435677557_1f982697e6_o.jpg There were quite a few other types of cars, mostly newer fiestas, cosworths and BMW's. Spottedlaurel
The Guilietta is beige-ish and even has cushions on the back shelf. Must admit a C-reg one surprises me, but I can't imagine them selling particularly well back then so must've hung around somewhere for a bit.I'd love to get to the touring cars thing one day, I imagine they must visit Snetterton. Looks like a good selection of stuff racing.
