55bloke
I saw the bloody awful Zodiac at the Custom car Show in Doncaster last year- there's a pic on here somewhere, unless it was in one of the deleted threads. I have to admit, I LOVE the Consul Classic. Reshaped wheel arches, unless I'm much mistaken. Originals probably a little bit frilly!! The rest of the spots are amazing- never see stuff like that round here.
reallyloud
A rather epic and somewhat varied selection follows - Mostly all shite you'd be happy to know. First off, thanks to Ratdat for images of his cars and for introducing me to the shitefest that is the Newark Autojumble and the Bubble car museum nearby. I'll start with a stop off at a Citroen graveyard: Only the 2nd PL17 I've seen dumped! This is the Super with the GS engine, this was a seriously quick machine in its day. A few from ratdats collection: His daily driver. I had a go and have to say I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was to drive. Mikes own stead. And then onto Newark - I didn't buy much - grand total of £2.15 for 4 toy cars and a 1984 copy of what car + one manky sausage in a roll served by 2 YTS rejects who needed each others assistance to load it up with burnt onions. Thought of bo11ox as we saw this Tata.... Mystery wierdy Marina again. Upon inspection it was a reasonable attempt to make the car into what BL should have produced in the first place. Again, I think seen on this site before, but had to put it up again. My favourite MG by a mile. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/vauxhall_cavalier_11.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/rambler_440.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/vauxhall_viva_10.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/vauxhall_victor_10.jpg So after seeing this lot, we thought we'd make the day even better by going to the Bubble car museum - which really is the home of shite. First things we saw on the way there: http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/gypsy_truck.jpg Seen on a genuine travelling - fortune telling gypsy camp. Any ideas what it might be? I thought it might be french. Then these: http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/citroen_truck.jpg Isn't this ace? Apparently on the road as recently as 1998. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/lancia_thema_832.jpg The owner of the Bubble car museum bought this Swiss registered Ferrari engined Lancia to hack around in. What a total hero. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/lancia_thema_8321.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/lancia_thema_8322.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/lancia_thema_8323.jpg It reaches 155mph and has a retractable rear spoiler as well as gold plated window trim surrounds. Must be the ultimate shite? http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/peugeot_205_1.jpg What a honey! Identical spec to the one I sold Ratdat! http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/reliant_fox3.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/simca_bagheera_1.jpg At the museum we caught end of a micro car show: http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/bmw_isetta_300.jpg And this novel and inspired use of a caravan. Not only that but all the equipment inside folded up meaning they could use the caravan while there and tow the car home afterwards. The caravan wasn't even that big. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/bmw_isetta_300_1.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/dkw_junior.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/daf_750.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/nsu_prinz_3.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/Zundapp.jpg Ingenious use of the rear and front access doors - they're both identical. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/vespa_400.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/enfield_8000.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/googgomobil_coupe.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/reliant_tw9.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/talbot_horizon_6.jpg I presume that this would have been a tow car for one of the micro cars. Typically eccentric towing car for somewhat eccentric owners. Suits the 106 hubcaps quite well. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/port_bmw.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/port_honda.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/port_honda1.jpg One of 4 Hondas in a little barn. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/port_honda2.jpg A few more shots here: http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/cars66.htm Quite a weekend. Only regret was that we were so wired while at the bubble car museum we didn't take a chance to find the Suzuki Fronte! http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/port_jim.jpg

michiel
I don't know where to start... if I had to choose just one: that Panhard is ace! 7463652/10.(And it's always good to see a pic of OKJ, makes me )

Mash
(And it's always good to see a pic of OKJ, makes me )Yeah, I can't get the little bugger to run right so that's why he's been at Ratdat's! Some great pics there. Newark jumble is always a great place for shite spotting in the "classics" car parking area. I get more pleasure from walking round there and taking snaps of mundane but near-extinct vehicles than I do at most shows By the way, I LOVE this:

reallyloud
Cheers for the comments, despite the cold and changable weather it was pretty much a perfect weekend. I may have been initially mis-leading regarding the Citroen images - they are as correctly stated by Ratdat in Ludford but all part of a Citroen specialist workshop. I had a good chat with the owner and a top guy too. Magnificient facial hair - of which I can only dream of.

Yes, it most definitely, definitely is, very very ace.Why again is it called an 8.32?Elegedly only 9 were ever sold new in the UK, all LHD.Thus, immediate ultimate autoshite, as you very correctly stated. Volksy
The Thema had a detuned mondial engine shoved in it, which was a V8 with 32 valves, hence 8.32I'd love one!

Spottedlaurel
I think the Bubblecar Museum is going to have to host some sort of informal Autoshite/OJC weekend this year, I've even persuaded my family it would be A Good Thing.Oddly enough, when Baz and I stumbled across it last year when collecting his R9 we caught the tail end of a microcar rally. They're obviously a sociable bunch.

mk2_craig
This is OKJ! Important as it is the first official Datsun import into the UK. It has quite a history too!Is the blue grille badge one of those fitted to Nissans circa 1984 (I also remember seeing red ones, what was the difference?) Our Prairie 1.5 had one and when we changed it for a 1.8 in 1988 we swapped the badge over... not the stereo though cos neither of my parents had the skills to achieve that so they ordered a new Radiomobile rad/cass and we made do with that for the next 4 years.
