N19
I was just thinking "cheeky get, retro, whacha on about that's an early naughties camera" then realised, it really is. Complete with low ISO speed bubbles. There's probably a load of photos of then-insignificant things that past-me took in the early naughties sitting on a HDD somewhere. AnnoyingPentium
Smol car is smol. Land Cruiser is feckin' huge. As an aside, it's filthy, so I washed it, since it's knocked back about 600 miles since Saturday. That's better! Still running rich, but only by a little now, I'll fix it when it's warmer, and once I figure out the issue, answers shots in the dark are accepted. Not sure if it's just going senile or what, it's not a biggie at the moment though as it isn't costing me too much over what it would normally. Yoss
My YouTube algorithm threw up a Czech model railway video yesterday. Nothing unusual there, I'm sure we all get those don't we? But this one had a train of car transporters and the vast majority of cars on it are mk1 Fabias so I thought this would be the best place to put it. There's a few mk1 Octys but it's mostly Fabias. There were six articulated transporters that could carry twelve cars each but there seem to be three spaces on the last one so that makes 69 of the little buggers. But to round it up 70 the loco is a Škoda too. A ČD Cargo class 240 dating from the late 60s. Nicknamed Laminatka because of of its fibreglass cabs. Wahey that combines Skodas and model railways, I'm in. Those will be the Kaden 1/87 models. I have a pair of those models, both hatchbacks, one blue one silver. Yoss
Yeah, I've got a yellow Fabia and silver Octy. They don't cost that much individually but 69 is serious dedication. AnnoyingPentium

AnnoyingPentium
On this day in... 1965: The film adaptation Doctor Zhivago was released in picture houses across the world. 1989: The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin was reopened. 1990: The Constitution of the Republic of Croatia was put into effect. Granting rights to citizens of Croatia. 2006: Someone received their shiny new Fabia from West End Skoda in Broxburn, spending something close to £9,000 on it I reckon (I've no bill of sale to confirm this). 2022: I took that same car on a nice trip out today, racking up over 200 miles or so. Despite all the pricks on the road that made it a little stressful, it wasn't too bad! (this picture is not recent, I just need some filler for this post) The fact a 2006 car is 16 now is scary to me. But here we are. Nothing new with this one really, as always it's plodding along and not causing bother (touch wood). So I'm pleased. Now on 71,000 miles and showing no signs of slowing down quite yet. Further orders of business is the MOT next year, and I'll probably get the rear brakes seen to post-MOT should it not drain me of many quids. AnnoyingPentium
Car did car things successfully today. I cleared my P0171 fault code yesterday so I got decent (44ish to the gallon) fuel consumption today! About 6 hours in total driving, with a visit to catch up with @reb and a trip to St Andrews in order. No photos of the car as it still looks like it's been dragged through mud (it has), and I broke my phone so I'm running on the craptacular spare. These turned out okay, though. robt100
Did you get the running rich issue sorted in the end? Just been deleting the fault code with VCDS-Lite before I go on a longer trip now. I've asked about it on there again, with an updated post and current information. AnnoyingPentium
MOT prep starts today... by that I mean I've given it a wash. Next on the list is sorting out the handbrake, some surface rust (more to slow it down a bit), and just tidy it up. The fog lights, rather comically, are fogging up since the plastic is damaged by UV light etc. I'll sort that in the future perhaps. It's not an immediate concern. Car got a new battery through the week, as it flat out refused to start. Hoping this goes some of the way to sorting out my issues I've had with the car as both terminals do now fit a bit better so hoping that my electrical issue was just the terminal clamp not being quite right. New battery seems beefier too, in terms of size and power rating. Car starts no bother now. This was it with the jump leads on it. Anyway, as always I'll monitor the fault code, and see if it'll finally fuck off. Dyslexic Viking, JMotor, Wibble and 1 other
AnnoyingPentium
Yet again, I've refused to let this car die. I'm totally shocked and stunned, I promise. The battery went on the Thursday, by the Saturday I was driving over to drop stuff off with @Flat4 when I get about three miles from the house and something had went wrong. At first, it sounded like a bearing, and then it didn't, there was no discernible difference when turning or anything. I had assumed the worst, and began looking for new shitboxes and sacking this one off once and for all, because it just felt like issue after issue with this one. Eventually, this fault did present itself more like a bearing, and as such, the front right bearing was replaced. Happy days, albeit a good wad of dosh lighter. On top of this, I decided to do some decent maintenance, and replace the coolant temperature sensor in the hopes it'll rectify whatever the fuck is going on with my fuelling still. Pretty quick job this, and the sensor itself isn't too costly. It lives on the right hand side of the 1.2 engine. Whipped the old one out, car pissed out some coolant, replaced the sensor, and the coolant level is still alright according to the coolant tank, so I'm not complaining at all. I cleared the P0171 code once again, and I'm waiting to see if it'll come back again. In the meantime, I got my mitts on one of those coding device things that lets you change the settings/adaptations to the likes of the comfort module and stuff. I've now got the anti-hijack enabled on the car, so it locks the doors when I drive off, the trailer tell-tale lights are also enabled. Although, I did accidentally code out the electronic boot release from the K-Line system, which made for an interesting trip to Aldi! Beyond that, it's been trundling along, with some hiccups as I honestly should have expected, things had been going too well. It's currently on 72,300 miles and it's still running smooth, and after replacing the coolant temperature sensor it feels a touch sharper, but that could just be some sort of placebo effect. Either way, it's had good innings so far, with over 20k miles in my ownership. Now, so I haven't (entirely) wasted your time, have some Big Country as a musical interlude of sorts. It always feels like it's lacking power, granted its an HTP engine, but there's nothing noticeably "off" about it. It's an annoying fault for sure. Considering it's a bloody good car to drive, for a small car it's quite refined. If I could just get rid of this fuelling thing I wouldn't mind the other shit breaking as much, as I wouldn't be spending so much on petrol! 😂 goosey, RoverFolkUs and Wibble

It's as if it thinks it's running lean, so trying to compensate by chucking more fuel into the system to make it run rich. It's a strange one, and I'm not entirely sure what the hell it's doing. 🤔 RoverFolkUs

LoftyvRS
Don't throw the towel in yet Ryan, of all the Fabia petrol engines, the 1.2 three pot's are the most ungrateful bastards when it comes to running issues, closely followed by the 1.4 16v ones. Hopefully you'll get it sorted especially after the investment of time and money into this one. AnnoyingPentium

It's an annoying one this, as there's no other indicators to further solving the running issue. Trying to find another one with similar spec, and relatively free of rust is proving a chore as that's a £2000-£2500 car these days on a similar mileage to mine. Sentimentality plays a part in this too, but if a really good one came about I'm sure I could set that aside. If I could find another one, it wouldn't be too hard to swap over everything I've fitted to my current one, but I swear to god I don't want to fit another towbar for as long as I live! Split_Pin
I haven't read back but have you had it plugged in to see if anythings amiss? Overfueling is surely either going to be the coolant temperature sensor or an O2 sensor.
