Datsuncog
I wouldn't say it was a favourite ad, as such, but this Shell advert had quite an impact on me when I was about three or four. And by 'impact', I mean 'scared shitless'. Shite Ron, ProgRocker, comfysofa and 1 other
somewhatfoolish
On 8/22/2021 at 11:29 PM, Pieman said: Not a car ad but an ad for More Than insurance - the one where a family in some sort of people carrier chase after their dog and end up driving into the middle of a banger race. It was filmed at Swaffham Raceway and I know the guy who was behind the filming of it, but I've never been able to find it online anywhere. I remember that! I also remember an ad from the 1990s for a japanese mid-size car(maybe Nissan, maybe Toyota or even another maker, that era of jap were quite anonymous to me at the time) which proceeded somewhat as a mash-up of a traditional cheap local dealer advert and manufacturer adverts, but with an preposterously absurd voiceover delivered by a traditional booming voice actor voice along the lines of 'It's all painted with paint! With windows to see out of! And 4 wheels that go round!' Likewise I've never found any trace of this online and have written it off as a fever dream. MiniMort
On the subject of TV ads you can't find online, my family all seems to insist on seeing an advert in the late 80s or early 90s for BMW motorcycles that featured a bike riding through a tunnel whilst the Irene Cara track What A Feeling played. Can't find anything about it online. Don't suppose anyone remembers it do they?

True, but at least both adverts are of their time. One is done with a bonkers stunt driver and pilots who don’t have a “no, that seems dangerous” button in their heads. The other is green screen and scripted by someone who failed physics at school Dan302

AndyW201
Dick Emery (who was reportedly a bit of a petrol head in real life. Some say the Ferrari Dino in the background was his?) in his many guises, plugging the MK3 Corty. And a pre-Doyle Martin Shaw pulling in a Mk2 Capri. warren t claim
My mum went to the local Ford dealers to buy a new Mk3 Escort and ended up buying one of these because the gearchange was nicer and the salesman offered her a massive discount on list price. Instead of being run around in the fashionable COTY Mk3 Escort I had to be seen in this. I was mortified and hated it. My relief when she chopped it in for a 1/8/83 A Plate Fiesta was like drifting off to sleep in a waterbed.
