in other Invacar news (of which there has been a lot flying around today, iv been flat out! I bet Stuart is reading this, chuckling to himself while drinking a Dry martini or something being glad he retired from all this! all good fun tho :) )

I have been contacted recently by a person who has an AC Model 70 they wish to sell, and they contacted me about it, as they did not simply want to throw it on ebay and more wanted to find a good home for it rather then outright profit

so I figured id post some pictures of it here and gauge interest etc figure out who is serious etc :)

the chap wants about £1.2K for I know which is strong money here, but in the scheme of things is sadly! not so bad, given what Model 70's sadly go for these days on ebay etc!

as you can see from the pictures she is TPE285S and she is from the same field of Model 70's that TWC725K and TPA621M was rescued from :)

so that should give you a general idea of sort of shape she is in and what sort of stuff and work she will need, the engine does turn over freely by hand although has not been fired up AFAIK

there is some bodywork damage, but all the bodywork is all there, theres no large chunks missing, its mostly cracks and the such like

Glass is all there except for nearside window glass (although I dont know if thats not there or simply not pictured/was removed for safe keeping, I need to check, but for now assume its not there and is missing in action)

so she is definitely a project rather then something you can get in and drive, but it should be a workable project!

(really interesting to see a handle on the roof outside like this, iv never seen it before on another Model 70 Im guessing it was installed so a user could grab ahold of it and hoist him or herself up or something such)

That is almost tempting... I do think it would need to be a fair bit less to turn that temptation into anything more.

Plus in fairness having a 2CV, a white Yugo, a hydropneumatic Citroen, a beard and living in Wales if I bought an invacar I might be accused of trying to emulate someone... 😂

We’ll ultimately this will be disappointing compared to the choices offered here… but I bought an Elgrand and I’m well chuffed with it!!

It was a bizarre happenstance that my wife and I were looking for something interesting with 7 seats, but had discounted Elgrands as being too expensive. Enter Northern Monkey and his very reasonably priced Elgrand! Available in Colne… which is exactly where I happened to be away for the weekend with family! How spooky!

So purchase was arranged! It’s a brilliant thing, and we look forward to ferrying the existing brownnova-sprogs and the one we have on the way!

There was no collection thread as @NorthernMonkeydelivered today. He has been a really A1 seller, as the day we went to view my daughter ended up being very ill and spending the night in hospital. Straight away he offered to deliver save me coming away from her whilst she was poorly. Thoroughly good chap and very much appreciated!!

Nope.  I hate them.  All doyleys and weird curtains.  Whenever I see one I just think "paedo".

The wheels on this are far too tame - they need to be chrome and gauche like @HMChas on his Paedowagon.

Jokes aside, well in.  They offer huge VFM against VW stuff etc!

Hopefully it escaped Renault's idea for electronics, otherwise WFG will be used a lot...

Paedogeddon (c. Chris Morris)

The wheels are dirty there so it doesn’t capture the extreme tackyness of them. Mine/ ours has a bodykit AND a whale tail spoiler AND sort of metal flake white paint for a triple whammy of excess.

The story with this one starts with a test drive of a Ronnie Pickering Red 60 plated Citroen C4 Picasso. It was low-ish mileage, in great condition and ticked all the boxes. But after the test drive we both agreed that to buy that would be admitting defeat, and the thought utterly depressed us both. So the quest for an interesting family wagon resulted.

We considered a few things such as a 5 cylinder S-Max and a JDM Nissan Serena or Toyota Estima amongst others but this became available in the right place at the right time and will do us for now!

There's an inordinate amount of these and Previas around here in this part of North Manchester.

The local Jewish population loves them and there's lots of V6 Petrol ones knocking about. I bet they're packed full of JDM oddites and toys which I love.

Father had a previa back in the day and it was full of oddball kit.

No offence meant to any owner, either - but my wife and I had exactly the same conversation when we decided to have a fourth.  I said "Getting an MPV is the same as saying My life is now over - I surrender everything - I am now waiting to die.  Everything that I was, that I am no longer.

Anyone who considers buying an MPV should be read, repeatedly, Dylan Thomas.

Quote

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

(Go buy some old JDM shite)
