Imp Jr. was more interested in other cars...

I think I might ask for a paternity test or leave everything to the cat home.

Oddly, I didn't see anyone I knew but we left before 12.

Did talk to a sound lad queuing for a sarnie who frequents the forum but hadn't registered as he 'didn't think he had anything suitable to post about' but owns an x-type which is pretty much as Autoshite as you can get really IMO.

It was odd as I drove the Legacy there as its literally the only car I own that works at the mo and I expected to be pointed to the JDM meet but as I drove up they just said 'Hubnut?'. Not sure if it was because my car just looks shit, the wheels are pointing in the right direction or if it was the fact I don't have neck tattoo's that gave me away but I just said 'Yeah'.

Did this chap have a cracking pair of trousers?

Yes I'm well aware of how daft that question sounds.

Can't remember but quite possibly. Thats without taking credit away from my own E17 trousers which are realky helping with my midlife crisis. His name began with a T though I think

Ha. Too many mysterious chaps with possibly ace trousers with  X Type Jags.

Did you have the Alfa Fulvia at Chumly or Arley hall years ago? Or I'm I getting muddled up again?

Had the horrifically rusty Fulvia coupe I bought on here for £1,500 that we took to Chumly after fudging onto the road and entered in the concurs for a laugh.

Those days are long gone though aren't they? - both reasonably priced classic cars and me finding the enthusiasm on work in them

It was an enjoyable day out. Bonus as it was only an hour from home plust a few minutes.

The Motorist was a great location @dollywobbler. Practically off the motorways.

There was also the JDM stuff about. Most of it was too MAX POWER for my liking but there was a very very nice red 200zx with it's wheels pointing upright and not on stretched rims. Lovely. I did expect more knob head engine revving out the event from them but I only heard it once. I think that both events on the one day didn't help the queues. The JDM one got delayed and put forward to today.

Amost more little French vans and cars then there was at the FOTU. No surprise as Hubnut has a lot of 2cv content.

Spoke to people who owned the soft top Twingo, the yellow Mégane and the soft top phase one Saxo. And the Sierra 1.6 that was practically pulled out of a scrapheap. All really nice people. Nice mix.

I took the Audi which had a few people talk about it too. Again, I swore I'd seen some cars about here but I couldn't be sure.

I'm surprised none of you have clocked the harlequin Rover 25... belongs to someone I know that breaks them, and has that as his daily driver/talking point.

Was it gone early? I did see photos of it but I can't remember seeing it about. I'd have remembered it surely.

I did see that arriving but I didn't seem to get a photo of it, I think it was just before we left.

That orange Regal looks like the best car in existence. Did anyone get more photos?

It's looking a bit under-used and neglected these days!  Quite a few years ago it received a new body because the original one was damaged beyond repair in an accident.  Its driver survived relatively unscathed, as did the chassis and mechanicals.  With the new body which I think was donated by a dealer and and the help of several members of the ROC, the replacement and respray in brilliant orange was conducted quite quickly after the accident, enabling its owner to get behind the wheel again before he thought too much about it.  I've lost touch with the owner since the demise of a very active Reliant forum many years ago so I don't know whether he still owns it. No doubt a more detailed story can be dredged out of social media accounts (which I don't have).

Edit: Found a couple of photos of it - probably 10 years ago (Further edit: The Tamworth gathering was on 11th September 2011 according to my diary).  You can also just see the nose of my Regal MKVI in the top left of the second photo which was taken at a Tamworth gathering.

Great pictures Mr Oxide, nice work! I really enjoyed the show there was a really great selection of cars on display even some of the JDM cars were worth a quick gander.

I had a slightly surreal moment when me and my better had decided to stop for a bite to eat, we sat in that car and started munching on some cakes and then Dollywobler walked past apparently filming. Sorry if we spoilt the shot but the cakes were really nice!

Anyone know the story behind the Alvis next to the hubnut stand, it was fantastic.
