loserone
Not sure what you lot are on about, the auto wipers in my 206 are ace, as was the 406 The stalk on my 205 is broken so they're basically random when on intermittent. Not ideal!
Spurious
The auto wipers were shite on both my Mk1 C5s. My facelift was better. My dads x7 Exlusive was the best of the bunch. The Mk1s would get horribly confused by mist and either go full bore or not enough.

Conclusion, auto wipers are shit 😁 I wish my W203 had auto wipers. maxxo
Parked next to a 2014 X7 exclusive this morning in a lovely bronze colour not usually an X7 C5 fan but i must admit it looked absolutely fantastic cream interior and hydro suspension too perhaps in a couple of years i may consider an X7

It's effing quick with the 170bhp diesel. The wine red colour is nice as well. It's comfy too and handles well. Looks sharp too. Do budget £300 for a new steering rack. They're a weak point and reconditioned ones tend to be better.

I am considering a second C5, i ideally want a mk1 HPi (you know, the direct injection one) for full excitement X7's seem extremely flawed, flimsy and a bit crap really so of course i'm interested but then again, if a C6 comes up for £500 i'll buy it

Needlessly complex Parts in short supply Not actually any better than a 16v 2.0 it ran beside. What could possibly go wrong. I'm not going to say the X7 is totally flawed. They're a mid/late 2000s car with all the complexities that brings. Nevertheless they did about a combined 450k miles in the Aul lads ownership and never catastrophically broke other than the steering rack.

I'd check/monitor for now. If it was coming out it'd be actively dripping/pressurised I'd have thought. I do count myself lucky that I never had any lhm issues with my xm and xant! maxxo
Did i mention the stereo is very good, and i mean absolutely excellent fantastic bass response, great mid tones and unlike the picasso zero rattle can cope with cascada on volume 25 no issues i also much prefer the radio preset menu in the C5 compared to no menu in the picasso don't think i'd get another picasso tbh loserone
maxxo
i know i say it a lot, but i am mightily impressed with this car they are an absolute fucking bargain, seems adjusted for inflation it was a 27k car brand new for pretty much nothing they are excellent apart from the wiper pattern there is literally nothing i don't like i would have gone for a xantia, but, crash protection sort of put me off as i drive around 20-25k per year plus how can you not love this goofy face this is exactly the sort of car that i had been searching years for looking forward to the warmer weather so i can really start doing work on it Isopon and loserone

richardmorris
I had a c5 hpi exclusive ( kg52mfk). I am still in therapy. bought in p/x with my rather rusty ( but mechanically perfect cx DTR Turbo ) at 33,000 miles and one owner in 2006. Three years old and £3500. Sold it in 2012 in px with the current Mercedes at 88,000miles for £750. brilliant car, poor quality and electronics but excellent rust proofing. i would very much doubt any are still running. Even in 2011 when it needed a new fuel pump, when I was on holiday in France, I had the only Siemens pump in France ( took two days to ship from marseilles to near Strasbourg) - which at £900 was more than the car was worth. If I hadn’t been abroad I wouldn’t have done it and scrapped the car.
Spurious
Didn't the pumps only have a life of about 30-50k miles?
