Daily DeLorean project (now with Jeep Wrangler "spared no expense")

I’m on Autoshite almost every day. How did I miss these! I’m torn, everyone loves a DeLorean and I’m no exception, but that LTD… It’s very high up the charts for top members cars on here as far as I’m concerned.

Also don’t discount we don’t want to see and hear more from that MowerShite. Hayter’s gonna hate.

  • Justwatching changed the title to Daily DeLorean project (with Ford LTD to prevent progress)

I also had never seen this thread.

As it happens my next door neighbour has a DeLorean too. He says the owners forums are quite good/helpful although fairly US biased.

He takes his to a few shows and it always comes back with loads of fingerprints all over the panels and windows.

I think its great that some of you are just keeping them as cars (as he is) and not doing yet another fairy light and Mr Fusion BTTF copy.

Any more details about the gearbox repair? My V6 renner 25 had it's autobox rebuilt last year (  same 4141 box ) . The guy said the clutch packs were the worst burned out ones he'd ever seen. I've only driven the car about 5 miles since but it now looks like I have OMGHGF! Hope you're having better luck with your prv engine and box

This thread is my density...

So pleased you appear to have got the better of the French autobox woes. May the delorean continue to fly through time.

My housemate Boring Simon had one once, but I never engaged him in conversation if at all possible.

LTD rear lights: could you bond some plastic sheet behind the hole and seal with bathroom sealant? No-one* would ever know.

Off topic, but one of my neighbours is a petrol head and, unquestionably, the most tedious git God ever put breath into. He'll often knock on the door and ask whenever I have something interesting on the drive but I always shrug and deny knowing anything about it for fear of dying of boredom on my own doorstep. He's the sort who will pull out his phone and scroll through to find a Facebook link to something about TopGear.

Anyway - yeah, how did we miss this thread?

Did you ever find out why the Delorean took so long to fix?

I also want to know about bad garages, small claims courts, absolutely wicked DMCs and how you've got the best fleet I've seen.

Begin.

Thread is excellent.  Would think Jotun Epoxy brush on would be best for chassis touch ups. ie sealing the metal and bonding to existing epoxy coating. I have been underwhelmed with auto box specialists up here as well.

was going to suggest the same...also comes in the right colour give or take

I would have thought it would be easier to work on something 70's/80's than something more recent- maybe parts availability is an issue?

LTD I photographed by chance at Goodwood earlier this year. I knew nothing about these until I started digging. Damn cool things!

Are Mk1 Granadas as exotic looking to americans?
