Think they could do with some more toilets next time though! I recognised the Blackline from the Favorit FB forum. the guy who had the green Estelle parked opposite used to own both but has recently sold the Blackline to his friend. Spurious
I recognised some folks cars on here and a few Autoshite dealer stickers. Didn't see anyone floating about the cars at the times otherwise I'd have said hello. I did have Ms Spurious with me and I think she was getting tired of looking at cars about after lunch, tis not her thing and we upped sticks about 1430. I'll have to properly meet up at some point. Was the Stellar someone's off here? Was in the car park on the left as you were facing the big house? I did see the white Skoda too @wuvvum, it looked great. wuvvum
Stellar was @mat_the_cat's. Are you sure you were looking at the right Skoda? There were two white N reg Felicias there, the other one was much cleaner than mine... Mine was the one parked on the back row near the trees. Spurious
There was two? Was it the one next to a green Corsa? It was great too and I left with Skoda envy after seeing many Favorits, Felicias and parking beside a lovely Estelle. My other half who's not very car enthusiastic loves Skoda's as she's practically Czech and tried speaking to the lovely couple in the LHD Estelle (in Czech) with CZ stickers thinking they were Czech expats but they locals 😅 wesacosa
wesacosa
Sadly my Green Favorit didn't make it past Hull this morning, but as there was a completely immaculate same spec Green Favorit its probably just as well mine wasn't there Spurious

Yep, next to the Corsa and a green Alfasud, with an R8 on the other side. Corsa is my mate's mum's which he'd borrowed for the occasion. 44K from new. uk_senator and Austat

But it needn't matter, whilst it was great to see a Marina in the courtyard with 2000 miles or so, it was was nicer to see cars with a bit of careworn character with stories to tell clearly in some form of regular use. A Marina that's wheeled out of the garage for events like this and then put back in cold storage isn't that interesting. Like that Espace with the epic blue lacquer peel. wuvvum
That Regent really was fantastic. Sunny Jim
A grand day out! Great to meet people and put face to names and cars. Wonderful variety and atmosphere and the weather was good (in fact true to cliche the rain held off until I crossed the border back into Wales!). Organisation was shockingly bad - I overheard the event medic talking to a steward, they had a radio call saying someone had collapsed 'in the car park' but it took them several minutes to establish which car park and then work out how to get there. There's no shortage of people from the outdoor events industry looking for work at the moment - they should have spent the money they spent on that appalling band on employing an experienced event manager! The cars were great: I admire the dedication and skill that's gone into the restorations but also like seeing the survivors that are in regular use - FoTU's got it all. uk_senator, eddyramrod, brownnova and 5 others

Even halfway down the grounds the not-quite-hitting-the-high-notes on Eye Of The Tiger cut through the general noise like a knife through butter. It was horrible. Weirdly enough several of the songs they attempted to play were played on Radio 2 in the morning as I was driving in. Coincidence? We were initially directed into the "boring moderns" parking, along with quite a few other eminently chodworthy conveyances, but I pleaded our case and they reconsidered.
