Fantastic variety for the show, some properly awesome cars there, think my favourite car at the show was the Favorit GLXi Blackline, absolutely mint. Think they could do with some more toilets next time though!

I recognised the Blackline from the Favorit FB forum. the guy who had the green Estelle parked opposite used to own both but has recently sold the Blackline to his friend.  Its spotless

I recognised some folks cars on here and a few Autoshite dealer stickers. Didn't see anyone floating about the cars at the times otherwise I'd have said hello.

I did have Ms Spurious with me and I think she was getting tired of looking at cars about after lunch, tis not her thing and we upped sticks about 1430.

I'll have to properly meet up at some point. Was the Stellar someone's off here? Was in the car park on the left as you were facing the big house?  I did see the white Skoda too @wuvvum, it looked great.

There was two? Was it the one next to a green Corsa?  It was great too and I left with Skoda envy after seeing many Favorits, Felicias and parking beside a lovely Estelle.

My other half who's not very car enthusiastic loves Skoda's as she's practically Czech and tried speaking to the lovely couple in the LHD Estelle (in Czech) with CZ stickers thinking they were Czech expats but they locals 😅

Sadly my Green Favorit didn't make it past Hull this morning, but as there was a completely immaculate same spec Green Favorit its probably just as well mine wasn't there

Yea that green one was glorious. But it needn't matter, whilst it was great to see a Marina in the courtyard with 2000 miles or so, it was was nicer to see cars with a bit of careworn character with stories to tell clearly in some form of regular use. A Marina that's wheeled out of the garage for events like this and then put back in cold storage isn't that interesting.

Like that Espace with the epic blue lacquer peel. It was great

For one day in my life I thought I'd feel special.

But three of the buggers at the same event...

I was thinking the same, how many 100 Avants are there and how many will be here today. More than I thought is the answer.

There was three. Mine was the only with hub caps though 😅

Trailer queen Talbot was so freshly restored they hadn't got round to MOTing it.

Looked like an Ignis from the back but just had kei and works badges, where's @skattrd when you need him, he only live a few miles away.

I do love an old van.

There were also more DeLoreans at the show than Toyota Carina Es.  More Renault 10s as well.

Plus yours has one of the best velour interiors I've ever come across, so to speak.

A grand day out! Great to meet people and put face to names and cars. Wonderful variety and atmosphere and the weather was good (in fact true to cliche the rain held off until I crossed the border back into Wales!).

Organisation was shockingly bad - I overheard the event medic talking to a steward, they had a radio call saying someone had collapsed 'in the car park' but it took them several minutes to establish which car park and then work out how to get there. There's no shortage of people from the outdoor events industry looking for work at the moment - they should have spent the money they spent on that appalling band on employing an experienced event manager!

The cars were great: I admire the dedication and skill that's gone into the restorations but also like seeing the survivors that are in regular use - FoTU's got it all.

DAF was sweet

The G30 of broken Ginetta corner made it in eventually, he had no luck this weekend as a buzzard carrying a pigeon kamakazied into his headlight causing him to attempt purchase from all the 205 owners.

I was worried I was going to get slated after my earlier post about this but I’m glad someone agrees with me.

Sat enjoying my £8.50 cheeseburger when all I can describe is one of those really bad X factor auditions started and an attempt at Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol was squealed out. Surely they listened to some of their music before booking, it was fucking terrible..

That band was like fingernails on chalkboard. Even halfway down the grounds the not-quite-hitting-the-high-notes on Eye Of The Tiger cut through the general noise like a knife through butter. It was horrible.

Weirdly enough several of the songs they attempted to play were played on Radio 2 in the morning as I was driving in. Coincidence?

Did I spot you, I'd came over to get something out of the car whilst you were taking a few photos?

Thanks it was part of the reason I bought it!

Why no pictures of a green 306? @RoadworkUK?

With some fanfare...

We were initially directed into the "boring moderns" parking, along with quite a few other eminently chodworthy conveyances, but I pleaded our case and they reconsidered.

Like a fool, rather than taking a sensible camera I brought my era-appropriate Sony Mavica CD camera with me, and as a result a) I ran out of battery a few hours in, b) I ran out of storage space at the same time, and c) I still need to finalise the CD before I can look at the pics on my laptop. They'll probably be terrible anyway.

Thanks again to you, and the @320touring @jaypee Great South transport conduit for the wheeltrims, there'll be a grand fitting ceremony tomorrow.
