AS communal Rover 75 / MG ZT lickers thread

Good ones are starting to make good money now, I think.

I'm trying to get my Monogram into as good a condition as possible to make sure it's on the road for many more years. The underside is almost pristine, and I've already been at the insides of the sills with Dinitrol. I'm looking at having a Lanoguard treatment over the rest of the underside this year, hopefully to keep things in tip top shape.

Mine (diesel) is currently having an issue with the oil level rising.

It has a BMW vortex type PCV fitted before I bought the car and shouldn't need replacing and it doesn't have a DPF. I'm hoping it's not the HP pump seal however the car runs perfectly.

If it is I have a spare pump and a rebuild kit. Fitting the pump is a ball ache though,  shall be farming that one out.

Low miles, early car so pre most of Project Drive, fabulous colour combination, great service history, recent cam belt change. Wonder what it will go for, 5k?  If you want a really nice 75 it is surely the one to go for.

A very nice example but not £5k. It's a Longbridge car and being on a 51 plate will have some project drive impact.

I'd say £2500 to £3k.

If it was a very early  Cowley car on a T plate with a personal line interior then maybe £4k at the absolute maximum.

Everyone seems to be selling "limousines" or LWB models, how do you tell which are LWB?

That looks a lot like a standard one to me, I didn't even think they made a LWB tourer, only the saloon? 

The LWB Saloon is easy to tell apart as the rear doors are quite visibly longer

Never heard of a limo tourer.

Think the seller is merely referring to it as limo like. Not an actual limo version that gets us rover lickers all excited.

Very misleading to call it that when there were actually limos made and it's not just a figure of speech. Though I suppose anyone bidding top money would realize no such thing was actually made and it's just a bog standard 75

Reg plate obfuscated, pretty much no useful info on the advert. No info on mileage or whether it even has an MOT. That's a red flag. 

£720, reserve not met... What are they expecting to get for it!?

Up, running and driving 75s struggle to fetch £1000. It's a facelift, diesel, manual, so least desirable. 

Early KV6's and low mileage ones in general are starting to fetch decent money, but all the rest aren't worth a great deal

There's plenty of other fish in the sea, I wouldn't be rushing towards that one unless you are able to get some useful info about it from the seller.

The MOT history really makes or breaks them, if it's got rotten rear sills or rear arms, as a lot do, then you'll be throwing good money after bad unless it's a car you plan to keep in the long term

I don't think any of them fetch a great deal realistically.

You'll always get someone in the enthusiast groups saying a 2005 diesel tourer with 150,000 miles could fetch £2k but when it comes to putting money where ones mouth is they don't fetch more than £800 tbh

I think saloons are more desirable really 

As I say, a low mileage one or any KV6 saloon will fetch a premium over the rest but that's it really

2 years ago today this landed on my drive. It was right in the middle of lockdown but the seller really wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it.  After a virtual WhatsApp viewing his plumber mate followed him down from Fife ('essential journey')  and he dropped it off.  He even came back down a week later to drop off some new wheel centre caps, badges and the Brink detachable towbar (which I use for our cycle carrier)

We are still in touch and I don't think I've disappointed him!

Needs a smiley plate though!

Not the most desirable in terms of engine/gearbox, and it's a bit leggy, but it's an S Reg! So as little project drive as you're ever going to get :D

That's true, but 140k is on the high side for a 75, not that there's anything wrong with that as they're perfectly capable but there are plenty of lower mileage ones about
