Most stupid message while flogging a shiter

I've had so many in just the past hour, after I stuck the RAV4 on Faceache.

One bellend asks for my number, which I give him, and he does the typical thing that a subset of society does and goes "it £400 yeah?". Repeatedly. Ended up saying "look it's £500, don't bother your arse coming if you can't afford it". Says he'll speak to his mate. Texts me saying £400 and he'll take it today. I'll give it to a shiter for £400, but not some prick who can't tell the difference between £400 and £500.

This one though was a particular delight.

Ernest my hole.

Thing is whether the £400 is from a knobhead or a shitter (who could also be a knobhead) it's £400 in the hand, the car is gone and there's no more dealing with knobheads, you've said yourself you are going to scrap it if no-one buys it so it's more than scrap value.

For me anyone who offers 75% of the asking gets the car if its sub 500, life is too short to be fucking around.

£400 will be the starting point for negotiations when the guy shows up, rather than the actual sale price.

I went to a very nice middle class area of Cork this week to buy 2 leather armchairs. The couple selling them had had 15 responses. One person came and decided they were too small, fair enough. We came, paid cash and took them away. All the others were weirdos or transparent scammers. Soon, people will all get like @sierramanand just throw everything out when they're finished with it rather than deal with the dregs of society.

Not quite correct... when I’ve done with the cars anything useful is stripped off, the fuel reused and in the case of the Mondeos I’ve broke the parts sold on to enthusiasts to keep their cars going.

I’m one of the worlds worst hoarders, I’ve got a stack on the back of about 50 used decking boards that will get rebuilt into something else. In real terms I’m probably much ‘greener’ than some smart arse that buys a Tesla and feels as if he’s a nominee for the UN Champion of the Earth.

I draw the line at having some wanker pitching to me about his bad luck and expecting a 75% reduction though so that why I do what I do. This sounds awful but most of the people buying a £500 car or whatever will be fucking insane, it’s best I spare myself the stress of dealing with them.

True, but life is too short to get fucked as well.

I had two asking if the original exhaust was on, both never bothered with a price when I Told them the cat was removed. The rest of them have no intention of driving it or putitng on the road, it's going to be put on a container set for Dubai. So knowing that, them knowing that, and knowing that an MOT sticks another £300 on to the value of the car, to offer £300 for something they haven't even seen or know anything about isn't on.

Offer me 75% when you see the car and you're arms deep in the engine. Don't offer me 75% when you're arms deep up your own arse.

Plus, let's be honest, how thick are these bed wetters to think we've obviously set the price too high and must come down with it. If it was meant to be £300, it'd be set as £300.

You'd be surprised... though I haven't had it personally, a good mate of mine had issues with hagglers on a free engine he was giving away. He actually had people messaging him asking for fuel money to come and collect...

Ive sold 2 cars in the last 2 months and its absolutely worth just holding out on your price. Both times I have had excellent buyers who have paid and collected as agreed and have actually done something with the car rather than flip it.

The daft messages from the dross of the car world are therefore quite funny. I really enjoyed sending that cunt packing whom I told what was the lowest I would take only for him to stand there and expect me to accept a further £100 less. He then text me a couple of days later and offered me more but robustly refused.

Put car up for sale - £1650. 2 minutes later,  bloke pops up on FB. Asks loads of questions.

"If I come tomorrow morning, what's the lowest you'll take"

Me: "£1500. It's only been up for a couple of minutes!"

"Oh that's way too much."

Why bother?

I should say ‘if you meet me at Michaelwood Services on the M5 at 7am on Christmas Day morning you can have it for a grand’

Argh another sob story. When someone looks back in 20-30 years and goes ‘What were attitudes like in the 2020’s?’ You will be able to encapsulate it all in one fucking phrase...  ‘Let me make my problem yours’

Incidentally this back in 2006.

I think the percentage of opportunistic greedy fuck nuggets has remained the same since humans learned how to barter for things.

I believe the difference these days, is the ease with which cock-wombles can contact you instantly and almost anonymously.

pretending that human interaction through smart phones is in any way genuine is the biggest mistake we're all getting dragged into!

What a wankstain.

Yes, that's the famous "Minder" Capri that this clown definitely didn't find in a scrapyard and restore.

I still can't tell if he was a complete fucktard or a troll.

Autoshite  GOLD right there. WTF is this guy on?

Eclectic tastes on his FB "likes" too.

OK, not had one of these before.

nYGMJNr.png

I mean, I've been offered less because they can't afford the car loads of times, but offering instalments?

I've gone back and said that I'll take £600 as a deposit if he wants as I'm not in a hurry to sell, but he's not getting the keys until it's fully paid for.

I've had that a couple of times, I've said I have no issues with installments, its £995 down and £1 a month for a 1k car.

At least they've strung some sentences together in a coherent fashion. An odd request, what's the asking price?

I just read your advert for that MR2.......the advert is so well written  I was literally thinking which car can I sell quickly so I can buy this......unbelievable that is the level of offer  on a keenly priced well described motor like that.

These are amazing things for the money. I've just logged back in to mr2roc.org as it's been 4 years since I sold mine. I've got to say it's bloody tempting to buy.

Nothing puts as big a smile on your face for less pounds.
