tommotech
The Alfa also failed on RH park brake efficiency, so had a fettle yesterday while waiting for parts. I attempted to ‘reset’ the caliper by winding it back and pumping the pedal but no joy. I removed the caliper and the piston, finding that the internals had broken apart. Luckily I had a TRW rear caliper off an EOS with same size piston and mechanism, swapped them across and job bobbed, park brake fully functional again. crad and Sigmund Fraud
tommotech
RH rear sill repair panel arrived yesterday, as did a new brake light switch. Switch solved the brake light circuit & ABS / ESP error. Codes deleted so on to the welding. Not a massive patch, as you can see, but the grot had gone into the base of the wheel arch, which the repair panel included. Prep done, patch ready to go in. tommotech
Welded, ground back, skim of filler and etch primed. Should look better with stonechip and body colour. Kringle, Sigmund Fraud, Minimad5 and 5 others
Minimad5
Top work. Could have easily slapped a patch on the sill, followed by a massive black tide mark, but glad you didn't as looks miles better when done as you have which is properly. tommotech
MOT retest tomorrow, sill repair base coated and lacquered - came out well enough in the end. Needs flatting and polishing but will wait for the paint to harden off first. wuvvum, Sigmund Fraud, outlaw118 and 2 others

tommotech
Now it has a fresh ticket and a good clean it’s probably time to introduce the car as a whole. It’s has a few dints here and there but it’s a 16 year old car now, that said it’s a pretty good 10 yarder........ I’ve never noticed before but I do like the detail on the dipstick, Alfa really do a nice engine bay. @wuvvumis spot on, a well sorted 147 is a lovely thing. Now to enjoy it! tommotech
I really need to sort the lacquer peel on the roof, it’s been suggested I wrap the roof with the Italian flag which would be half the cost of painting. It kind of appeals to me but I can’t find any images online, other than a 4C with one (which does look good to be fair). Thoughts, encouragement or disapproval welcome, thanks in advance. tommotech
With the Audi daily awaiting parts the Alfa has been pressed into service, it’s a decent steer and I do like the sound of the engine. Heidel_Kakao
