I've always hankered after an S123 300TD. Just a shame we never got the turbo variety in RHD. Still, a good excuse to go and find a LHD one somewhere on the continent and bring it over. The Mercedes was nearly at 190000 when I finally gave up on it, the Blingo is a gnat's bawhair away from 180k, and the Dyane has been in the early 120s for a very VERY long time. Nothing else (except possibly the Volvo - can't remember) made it to six figures, at least in my ownership. OM646

I bought the car from the original owner who was thankfully very particular about maintaining it. It’s been serviced every single year by the supplying dealer, who are still in business as a Honda outlet, and they’ve looked after everything from timing belts (it’s had five in it’s lifetime) to tyres etc too. More than that though it’s been kept in incredible nick. There’s a couple of giffer prangs etc on the bumper corners and you might be able to make out that patch of paint on the wing, but other than that it’s really nice and a real credit to him. You would never know from sitting in it that it had done 210k either. It’s a real gem of a car and I really should do more with it. NorfolkNWeigh
The highest mileage car I’ve been in was a W211 Mercedes e220d Taxi in Budapest. I noticed the clock was showing 900 odd thousand km, which must be 550k miles . It seems the driver had had it a couple of years and it had already done 600k km when he bought it in Berlin. This was a couple of years ago and I’d like to think it’s somewhere in Africa now , still earning a living as a cab and well on its way to 2 million kilometres. chaseracer, Dan_ZTT and OM646

Wack
I sold a transit van to a trader 25 years ago It'd never been advertised , somebody told him I was selling it , he came and looked at it , 5 years old , one owner from new , it was back in the days when the mileometer went to 99,999 then back to 00000 so it was showing 6,000 miles he had a good look round it then bid me in the nuts , but I'd added some on so he was within what I wanted for it, he then said it's the most I can pay as it's done 106,000 miles I thought, if you ask me i'll tell you, but he didn't It'd done 406,000 miles but one owner, one driver it looked like it'd done 106,000 miles crad, OM646, bunglebus and 8 others 1

Stanky
Owned? The ex @Vantman Saab 9-3 at about 165k miles before 'the incident' in Germany. Driven? A black cab bought by the company I worked for at the time and unofficially maintained by me, as a marketing vehicle/directors "charity banger rally" vehicle and much to the chagrin of the account management team "company pool car" that they were forced to drive to customer meetings to save on mileage expenses. 1.6 million miles on the 7-digit odometer. It drove fine, actually. didn't do much after 60mph even foot-to-the-floor but I'd honestly never have guessed it'd done that many miles had I not seen with my own eyes. i believe it was 2.0 ford Dura-torq engine'd, my memory is a bit hazy as it was a few years back. I still stick to my guns that any half-decent late-90s > mid 00's petrol engine should be entirely capable of 200k with only basic servicing. Whether the rest of the bodywork and ancilliaries survive is another matter, but the internal combustion engine itself had basically reached its zenith at this point. A case in point would be my former Nissan Almera N15 which was on 148k on its original GA14DE engine, delivering a reliable 45mpg over literally tens of thousands of mixed miles. The bodywork and gearbox eventually fell to bits but that engine was indestructible. OM646, BorniteIdentity, Vantman and 1 other
Ghosty
190+k on that 305 I very briefly owned (speaking of, it's currently available on Marketplace!). My 850 was on 192k according to the ECU, but the odometer was (and probably still is) stuck at 168,449. Was handy for mileage allowances on the insurance, or I'd have tried to fix it. Twiggy
378K miles in my Peugeot 405 SRDT. Actually more like 380K miles - the odometer stopped working for a few weeks. Had it from new in 1994, part-exing it for a Citroen Synergie in 2004. Never had any bother with the engine, new clutch at 337K miles, 2 new radiators, 7cambelts, numerous tyres, brake pads and discs. Serviced religiously every 6K miles by the supplying dealer who also did all the necessary repairs. Never less than 45 to the gallon and very close to 60 mpg on a run. Daviemck2006
My Xantia1.9td previously owned by Zel of this parish is my highest so far, just over 251000 when it went to meet its maker, the 1.9td bora is getting close, although it has not moved for about a month as it needs the discs and pads done all round, rear pads down to the metal. I have pads and discs to do it, but a combination of the weather being crap when the roof of my garage is the sky, and my health also being crap and now having the rover doing what the bora did means it has been left.Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk OM646
