Rover 100 1.1 111 Ascot 3dr 1998/R * NEW MOT AND SERVICE * | eBay

Most of you will know by now i am a huge Rover fan and its always nice to see the cars being restored or appreciating in value but £1250 for a Metro???

You can get a V6 or a V8 rocket ship for that price 😆

Wait ‘til you hear about Minis...

Alex Issigonis was a twat.

Austin Workers at Longbridge had a reputation for building shite.

Put the 2 together and you get a small car that in unworthy of its popularity.

The only reason it is better than say a fiat 126 is that it's faster.

And I say that having owned a 126, 4 minis, 2 metros, (and a BINI)

I reckon 1250 quid for a fucking rotten old Metro is more deserving of the “Bargains” thread.

Yeah, Metro prices are all over. I paid about a quarter of that for mine with less rust, same miles but more lacquer peel. Oh, and mine is a desirable* early one. 😂

But then I've seen Un-MoT'd ones advertised for 500 - 700 quid! It's like R8s, just because you want them to be worth more, doesn't mean they automatically are....

ARAS.

I kind of meant the prices they go for, but thanks for the British motor industry history lesson - it’s a pretty good summary, I have to admit :)

I'm sure it's more complex, but how the mini survived 40 years amazes me.
