Got home and Ma not happy due to late hour. I stupidly mentioned I was still in bed at 1 anyway to get mega rant of why am I still in bed? Really Ma? Do you really want that one explaining?

I'm sure there are people on here who would take a hacksaw to a resin-encrusted ECU, although I'm not sure I could be arsed with such an undertaking. My point about in-built obsolescence was aimed at a rather wider audience, ie people who buy new/newly second-hand cars and have them repaired at a garage or, worse still, a main dealer.

We mustn't let the Allegro , hideous though it was, overshadow that other example of perfectly made automotive machinery, the Morris Marina. Four of us drove to Scotland in one of those things , cunningly made and designed by blind baboons.
Even with four up the suspension had a mind of it's own and it sounded like every nut and screw that should have been tightened , hadn't been. Absolutely dreadful vehicle .

Another potentially decent design undone by crap management; the BL hierarchy insisted that the same doors as the Landcrab were used. Having a decent relationship with build quality would've helped though.

 

 

All overshadowed by the hideously rustworthy Princess.

Even Shrek would have passed on that one!

Just driving back down the a322 dual carriageway towards home and the local travellers are ragging a poor pony and trap at full pelt while holding up traffic in a p reg disco and trailer. Poor thing was terrified and then they looped round the m3 roundabout and went back down the other side- must be two miles each way.
