Shussh. Just pretend you don't know anything about it!

Ma has mega face on.

Double imaginary people time on tv today, so for round 1 I pissed off and (failed) to organise a piss up. It rolls round to 10 minutes to 2nd eastenders, n she says am I getting in the shower? No, I'll wait till your shit comes on and you can have your brain dribble on your shoes in peace. Ma then goes off on one about she doesn't watch much tv, and fine! she won't watch it. Woman logic in action, you're helping them do what they want so you're still an evil bastard.

N yeah, rubbish grump compared to people with real problems, but it gets me a step closer to wanting to jump off a bridge.

It's a horribly complicated situation - she's 45 with two kids aged 12 and 10, and the 12-yr-old has fairly major 'issues' of her own. Were it not for the children, I'd agree that sectioning would be the best option, but if/when she starts divorce proceedings, it could complicate the custody decision. She is getting really good help from the MH Crisis Team, so that's something.

Sporty-shite: She would never voluntarily admit herself. She is attending outpatient appointments to regulate her meds, but that's the only time she leaves her house. I think we will eventually have to try and get some kind of restraining order against her husband, but that will be a major challenge in itself.

Ah, fair enough. If she's under the crisis team, she wouldn't be "sectionable" anyway, or they'd do it. I understand that she wants to avoid an admission to simplify custody stuff. Sounds like that little gimp is trying to make her look bad so he can punish her via the kids.

Can we not organise a "kidnap and burn"?

Edit: In all seriousness, I hope she improves soon, and recovers enough to fuck him up the arse with the divorce settlement.

I can see where Mr Bollox is coming from. Really, this thread was all about getting insanely angry about the little things. Some (Dugong) were spectacular at getting angry. It was properly in the spirit of Grumpy Old Men on telly. It gets a bit difficult when actual real difficulties start cropping up and makes the gentle humour of barely-needed rants rather tricky to enjoy.

Mind you, it then becomes a sort of primal scream therapy I guess. A problem shared etc etc. The whole point of the Grin/Grump were to be off-topic areas of the main forum after all (in the legendary days before we actually had an off-topic section. Or sections at all). These threads are easy enough to ignore if you wish, or to dole out sympathy and a virtual shoulder if you wish. I can't really help with anyone's problems, so I'm sorry about that - mainly because I'm British, and we're good at being sorry. I particularly like the way British people apologise if someone accidentally walks into THEM. The walkee should be apologising.

In the spirit of pointless rants then here's one. Assassins Creed unity is a bit shit and I'm mega disappointed. It's not the same as all the others, which is both good and bad :-)

Man vs woman and telly. I wouldn't even try.

I have banned myself from any room that contains woman with TV.

Wise words indeed.... But IMHO we are (mainly) virtual friends on here. As such we can talk about anything that bothers us. Car related or not. The internet is huge and has room surely?

I assume the camera didn't do that much damage then?

Does it just keep coming into your mind without provocation, I can understand that to be fair.

For one thing, they race small French cars around a field next to a beach.  For a whole day and night...

On our trailers at work, we have four steel plates on the tail lift. These are for use as ramps or for bridging the gap between the tail lift and the kerb when doing kerbside deliveries for rolling loaded cages off. You lift these plates towards you and they lock in an upright position which stops the loaded cages rolling off while the tail lift is in the raised position.

So, there I was on Tuesday night in George Street, Croydon (what a bastard to find), setting up the trailer to make my delivery, lifted the steel plate on the kerb side of the tail lift, only it didn't lock in an upright position, it came straight down on my right shin.

Hurt like an absolute bastard. As the week has gone on, it seems to be hurting more.

I hate anything touching my shins, very sensitive.

I don't think the people in the pub opposite my trailer had ever heard such a weird combination of cuss words.

It's made me grumpy all week.

Hey B, can you post the footage from the cock_cam on here for us to evaluate?

Was it for a medical issue or for pleasure?

Mr Smooth - Those things look rather heavy, I suspect it's hurting more because you've fractured something and now it's fixing itself.

I do have a grump but firstly...

We've had a few family tragedies in the last few years, at times it can be hard to just do normal stuff because you feel like your world ended, yet everyone else carries on like nothing happened. You really do need to be able to share it, even if it's just so the people around you know why you're not yourself just now.

So, my grump is: People who think it's ok to shovel snow into the road at the first sign of a thaw, like it's just going to mediately disappear or something. Ok, when yet another foot or so falls it's starts getting hard to find places to stash it, but do you think creating another accident black spot is an effective solution? It's not been so bad this year yet (more snow forecast) but last year lots of people were doing it, one idiot even decided to shovel all the snow from their drive onto a bend right near the school where my wife works. It didn't melt much, just enough to melt it into the road a bit, then the temperature dropped again and it was there for days. Yeah, real clever that.

re. the camera, do they do it "floppy" or does one have to chubb up before the procedure? Does the nurse offer assistance?

as for the general health news, I would guess that folk on here probably average 30 - 40 years old, which puts most in the position of having parents reaching frailty - a sad but inevitable fact of life.

Here's a 'minor' grump; after all the dosh the fookin' vets had out of me on Tuesday, they've just charged me £3.70 for filling in a form!
