I'd swap the weeks of miserable rainy weather we've recently had here for more crisp, clear days like we've had today. Yes it's cold, but generally it's cold and clear unless it's actually doing something. You don't get the weeks and weeks and weeks of just being damp and generally miserable. I'd take cold in winter over the summer down here any day. Cold you can add more layers to deal with, when it's 25+C there's absolutely nothing you can do about it unless you're a multi millionaire and can afford an air conditioned garage. I'm sure it's just a coincidence* that we both have problems with cunt next door. MikeR Posted December 9, 2022 Share Posted December 9, 2022 another frosty day , another day the trains dont run properly , you would think after 40 years ( in my memory ) they could sort things out . my grandad used to travel to be in work for 6 am using the trains many years ago , now they cant even open the station doors at that time ... you would think it would be cheaper to scrap the local trains and just leave the replacement bus service running instead ... It's certainly changeable in Aberdeenshire, I was going to Aberdeen towing a 3.5t trailer in the winter, full going, empty coming back, got to Stonehaven and it was blowing a blizzard with the wind drifting it I thought that's me getting back home stuffed, came back about 90 minutes later, sun was out and no snow anywhere Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not long ago, I was doing 2 weeks of jury service, so walked the mile to my local Miseryrail station, to get the train to Liverpool. Could barely stand up on the pavements. Got to the station and found all trains were delayed. Very delayed. Went back home and got my wife to phone up, to say I might be late, and couldn't open the doors of my car due to the ice. So went in the MX5. Obviously everyone else was driving in too, so instead of arriving at 9 I arrived at 11. Not a problem, because most of the other jurors (100 ish) and most of the judges and barristers, had had similar problems. Ice on the points at Sandhills (ironic name for a place with no sandhills - It's more bomb crater) Apparently the trains came back into service at about 2pm that day. Not really a problem apart from all of the dickheads that don’t realise that you also need to clear the snow off your roof as well as your windscreen. Saw one twat with only half their windscreen cleared.
