MikeR
Thats the Focus gone . the local garage took it off my hands . Cash in hand .. they put it up on the ramps for a "MOT" , nothing that could not be fixed , but with totting up all the jobs the resultant bill was not the way to go !!! certainly had my moneys worth out of it , 400 notes 5 years ago So it may live on helping other cars stay on the road rather then just being dumped in the fragging machine to make bean cans .. Zelandeth
Fscking tradesmen. Just been stood up by the fourth roofer who's failed to turn up when they said they would to look at our roof. I'm not inclined to accept the quote from the first guy because his business doesn't officially exist, and I seriously expect that the same is true of the public liability insurance etc. Also the quote didn't contain the promised photos of the trouble areas (which I've never seen myself), and in general looked like it had been penned by a three year old. Just inspired precisely zero confidence. It also seems about ten grand too cheap! Never would have expected it to be so bloody hard to give someone money. This is not a small job, probably £20-30K worth of work. You'd kind of think they might be at least vaguely interested. richardmorris, 3VOM, Datsuncog and 3 others 2

reb
I'm currently stuck in Tesco car park because I have a great big shiny blob in my vision straight ahead. Get some paracetamol down you now cos there's a good chance you've a headache coming. Stay somewhere dark and stay away from screens for a while. The day after I have one I feel totally wiped out, I lose about 50% of my IQ, so don't plan owt for tomorrow. Stress and eye strain can bring them on. If you wear glasses, get your eyes tested to make sure your prescription is right. If you don't wear glasses, get your eyes tested cos you might need to. cobblers
I'm a cyclist and I live near a road junction, I would probably rather be run over by a lorry than hear any more "beep beep, stay clear, this vehicle is turning left" warnings that trucks now have fitted that wake me up all fucking night. If you are on a bike, on a road, stay out of the way of anything really big like a truck. If you need a loud tannoy message to remind you of this, then I'm afraid that natural selection has chosen you to do something very noble. myglaren, Ghosty, Tickman and 14 others 10
New POD
I'm a cyclist. But I'm not brave or stupid. There's a Road on my way home from work, goes down a hill called Marchington Cliff. STEEP. WITH A BEND OR TWO. It's not smooth either. I followed a cyclist down there yesterday. At the end he's doing 45 mph. Luckily there is a long straight that flattens out a bit before it reaches a tee junction. Brave or stupid ? Remspoor

I had one like this a few years ago where I gradually lost my vision as I was driving. Usually mine are just fuck-off headaches with a sore neck. I was quite grateful to have something else for a change but it wasn't much fun at the time. I just slept it off in the end. I've had one where my arm tingled before as well. But out of the hundred or so that I've had, those are the only two times it hasn't had the headache. Low Horatio gearbox

Don't blow your nose too much as it causes more inflammation. Of course it's not nice sniffling all the time, but actually if you do the irritation will reduce. Snort some lukewarm water up your nose to clear it. Takes practice but works really well - one nostril at a time, just a splash of water in the palm of your hand. I don't take antihistamines as I don't like them, but I find a couple of paracetamol helps calm things down when I start sneezing. HTH. beko1987
Use the hoover to suck away your tears as they fall 👍 Ditto for a quick nostril unblock if no ones looking but be careful doing that...
