It's barely been used these last couple of years & despite a solar panel connected to the battery, it had gone flat. Not a bother thought I, connected it to my old fashioned charger & left it for a couple of hours. Sure enough, after just enough churning to produce some oil pressure, it burst into life. It was a bit lumpy & rough, but the back window was open as it was still attached to the charger. I bobbed out disconnected & thought it smelled like it was running a bit rich. Perhaps it's the fuel preserver additive I can smell, but no, it was vigourously pumping fuel out from under the driver's floor & all over the drive. Obviously I switched it off and came in for a cup of tea, but I had a quick rummage through the pile of bills that accompany the old motor car & found one dated 21.5.20 for replacement 'rubber' fuel pipes - a mere 245 miles ago. I remember querying whether they had used the correct ethanol resistant type at the time, but I got the impression that he didn't know what I was talking about. Recovery has been organised for tomorrow. It is unlikely to be returning to my local Porsche specialists... Bren
I have had eosiniphilic asthma since 2015. It doesn't respond to normal meds - steroids, and if severe enough, biologics are required. Mine has never been so bad - even a flight of stairs becomes a major obstacle. I am finding that now, even after steroids, I am wheezing and rattling. I used to hide it but I can't anymore. Staff at the hospital think the high pollen count will have something to do with this ( I agree - to a point) - my concern is that the covid I had in January has affected me, or in particular, my lungs. myglaren
Walking through the park to my son's to collect my car. The amount of rubbish and dogshit is appalling. Worse were these buggers allowing their dogs into a children's playground with 'No Dogs Allowed' signs all the way round. Woman letting her dog shit there too. There are acres and acres of fields for the dogs and they let them crap in a playground. A bit hard to see, they are lurking near the trees at the back. Rust Collector
That kind of thing with some dog walkers does my nut. I was walking the dog round the park near my work the other day, keeping an eye on the dog whilst on the phone to my mrs and so not paying complete attention to my own footsteps when I trod in a massive pile of dog eggs. Someone had let their dog shit on the centre of the fucking path and then hadn't bothered to pick it up. I won't even believe that they were caught without a poo bag, as the park is lined with trees where this path is, and there's an abundance of sticks that could have been used to flick the logs into the undergrowth if you were caught out. I know it's not everyone, but it gives us all a bad reputation which is bollocks. Imo it's definitely inconsiderate to walk your dog over sports pitches. I think there's just a lot of people who do not think about how their actions impact others sadly, you see it in almost every aspect of life. paulplom and myglaren

It did bond, but not very well and as soon as any tension was put on the panel it just peeled off. Disappointing stuff really. @Three Speed my seat base is made different, if it were like the traction's seat base I could definitely use your method. On mine, there's hooks that go into a rod that runs down the outer edge on the diaphragm on two sides. The hooks then push into holes in the frame. You can't run anything front-to-back without slicing holes in the seat cover, which I obviously don't want to do, because of how the seat cover is held to the frame. In theory, I could replace the whole diaphragm with some webbing that runs side-to-side, I'd just lose the give of the rubber webbing which helps make the seat soft and works as the springs. Cableties are probably going to just slice through the foam base since there's no real structure in the seat base, the support is entirely dependant on the diaphragm. I've made mine the same way as the original except that I don't know how BL bonded the rubber webbing and hessian together, that's the bit that's tripping me up. I suspect they bonded fabric and rubber together in one go when the diaphragms were made. can you adapt one of the less good maestro seats to work? mat_the_cat
We have a holiday let which we rent out via Airbnb. Nice cottage, with plenty of space around it for dogs to exercise. Got there for a changeover, to find 4 (very obvious) piles of dog shit they haven't bothered to clean up. Plus the bathroom bin was full of used sanitary towels (no bag), which blew all over the garden while I was taking them to the main bin. Worse still, they've already booked for a repeat week! Then to compound things, the couple who were arriving later that afternoon sent us a message at 10:30. Bearing in mind we clearly state a 4pm check-in time, the message stated that they were setting off now, and so expected to be there earlier, around 2-3pm. And they'd tested positive for Covid 2 days ago; were there any special precautions we'd like them to take? Yes, how about staying away!
