MarvinsMom
the recent high winds have apparently shredded the cover thing we had over the slightly broken car on Kerry's drive. what a shock, not. i am so fuckin' sick of shitty, ungrateful, needy, broken shitboxes i have gone and listed the little turd for sale. i am fed up of the "old car" thing as it has stopped been fun, in fact it stopped been fun along time ago. i cannot wait to see the back of all of these crappy cars that i have ended up with. adw1977, Remspoor, Coprolalia and 1 other
Minimad5
davehedgehog31 ^ not worth the hassle with police etc. (After being hit by a car and getting a letter from police basically saying 'Well you're still alive so we've left it at that' ... I lost a lot of time for them) Just remove his tyre valves if you ever see his car parked up. davehedgehog31, Remspoor and Sidclark96
GrumpiusMaximus
At worst they'll do nothing, at best he'll get fined for driving without stopping. Personally I'd report it and you've got pretty clear eveidence of him being in the wrong there. That's my view anyhow. Did a long drive yesterday. Golf has been doing fine lately but yesterday it started making a nasty noise at full lock when manouvering. That'll probably be the power steering, then... Zelandeth
Finally got an appointment at the top today. Went to start loading the car up. Boot won't open...oh c'mon! Have never had the slightest issue with that before, but today it's not interested. So have had to load things through the rear doors. My back loved that. Then my oil transfer pump decided to not work...so had to decent the 20-ish litres from the catch pan into bottles with a not-really-big-enough funnel, and predictably spilled it all over the place. Then went to pick up the dead battery from the BX and the handle snapped off and it landed square on my right foot. Yeah...this is going to be one of *those* days isn't it... myglaren and R1152

Zelandeth
Yep...they have arranged things at the tip in a way to make things about as awkward and inefficient and to maximise the degree to which you have to walk around people as far as possible. Which given prior experience with that place on a normal day I fully expected. Carting 40 odd litres of oil from one side of the site to the other was fun...as was carrying about 2/3rds of a bootload of rotten chipboard halfway around the site, and getting shouted at for dropping things. Really enjoyed getting told to hurry up when my 15 minute window was nearly up too. Seriously...just let us park up near to the bloody bins... especially as you're only letting half a dozen cars at a time into the site at a time. Would vastly minimise the amount of time people were there and the amount of walking around they'd be doing. Think I saw one person other than me there with a mask on, which given the signs plastered everywhere and red bold letters in the appointment email saying they're mandatory just hacks me off. MikeR
Our tip is like that , sort of arrange the shite in the car to be in order for unloading at each skip , then they change the order of the skips , now i tried using each door for different classes of shite , only for the doors to be in the way , so i bag the shite and in it all goes to the same skip .... GrumpiusMaximus
Totally unrestricted tip at my parents so it seems. Told them I'd booked an appointment for Sunday and they were surprised I had to even book. They're in Exmouth and I'm in Kent, for context. One time I went, the bloke checking the car registrations started telling me how he'd had a car like mine and liked it until he wrote it off, merrily holding up the queue. Made me laugh. Nice chap. I try and get there at the beginning of my time slot, park near the bin where I am likely to shove the most crap and walk the rest around. It's not too bad as the tip is a 'U' shape anyway. Don't even bother trying to get near the cardboard section most of the time as someone always gets there first...
New POD
I went non Sunday morning at 8.30 as my allotted slot was 8.30 to 9.00 Drove to the mixed recycling threw my dodgy chemicals in there first. Reversed to the metal, threw on the old exhaust and brake discs, and then reversed to the wood, where I deposited bits of old wood. I could have put them.on the chiminea, but some of it was old fence coated with engine oil and it fucking stinks when it burns. Strangely I have was the only customer they had at that time in the morning.

R1152
Renting a car to replace the E60 for a couple of days. I had to reject the Vauxhall Crossland as it was pre-broken (a rhythmic rattle coming from under the bonnet/OSF wheel) so I was given a black Merc A Class. With a black interior. And gangsta glass. It's like driving around inside a pillar box and makes a Bini seem light and airy. It has an excessive amount of tech, and the last time I drove a car with steering that over-assisted it was my godfather's 1982 Datsun Laurel. I should be grateful it's going to allow me to earn some coin that, hopefully, will pay to get the E60 back on the road again. But that A-Class is a cancerous dog's cock of a car. Bren
I am a severe asthmatic. I need specialist treatment - every two months I need an injection of an antibody. Last year I was put on new meds which were nothing short of a miracle - sadly over the last few weeks they have wore off - I have rescue steroids as a back up. As these were running out I put in a repeat prescription last week. In reply I got a text message saying a telephone consultation would be needed first and to ring at 830 am today. Finished night shift ( late) - rang thirty five times but could not get through. Gave up and went to bed. Rang up at 1330 when I got up - I was told to ring back at 830 in the morning or complete an e consultation! By now my roids had ran out and my peak flow was 370. I rang the walk in centre in Widnes - got an appointment within an hour and a rescue pack of steroids. The NHS has kept me going - without them I would more than likely be in the ground. My youngest has down syndrome - Whiston hospital were brilliant when he was born. Unfortunately I cannot offer the same praise for my GP - hospitals and walk in centres still offer a service - unlike many doctors it would appear. I am very fucking angry. beko1987
Only had duff valves once, less than 24h after new tyres. The valve covers held the air until SWMBO went back the following Monday and they were all changed with apologies. First thing the fitter did was look at the valve. He told me that the rubber used now seems to be destroyed quicker by the sun than they used to. Wack
The valve was faulty , the dust cap was pressurised but when he moved the valve side to side it leaked, it wasn't even the right type of valve as it was far too short, no point in arguing with them because if I get up tomorrow and it's flat again it's just more aggro if I have to go back Anyway, their loss,I've got 6 vehicles, the smart needs 2 tyres which I was going to ask for a price on but I just handed the £25 over, got my receipt and left never to return
