You just get alarming sounds of ice cracking from above as it thaws out in my panoramic-roofed modern. Not noticed any major condensation with it.

This reaffirms the whole expensive but not quite extortionate theory. I think assuming crust on a 90s Volvo in Scotland is fair.

I desperately needed a UV light for uni, okay well i will order one from amazon and use prime and it should be here for the day i needed it right?

after 4 days of it not even showing on the tracking i cancelled the order, should be simple

nope

waited 2 weeks for a refund, then had to contact customer services to finally get refunded

not after waiting 7 days of course

i worked for amazon, in the "fullfilment centre" for a single day, i was not fullfilled! it was absolutely awful, i now have a wonderful job at tesco driving vans doing home deliveries which i absolutely love

bonnet is still dented (albeit tons better now i used my glue gun dent puller on it)

been dented 6 months now since it was apparently "driven over"  which i don't believe at all

i strongly suspect he left it open as he lifted it on the lamp and it hit the roof.......but can't confirm it

anyway, zero contact from him since september when he was isolating from COVID, i know he's still alive and at work due to seeing him there the other day when i drove past

can't be fucked chasing it anymore as i know it will be just more lies

i have a very trustworthy local citroen specialist, only been there a few times now but i really like them, albeit they aren't cheap but i like them

I have a 307 SW never had any dripage from the glass roof.

Name and shame the wasters, but equally praise your local Citroen specialist. I know I've always been too fast to do the former and not the latter.

I bought a brand new Xaomi Redmi 8XT Android phone back in April on the back of a recommendation from someone who has an interest in good technology for not a lot of money.

It was pretty cheap, about £120, SIM free and worked great for the first 5 months. The camera in particular is great, especially for close up shots of small model cars.

About  a month ago though, it wanted to update itself - looked like a big one, operating system and the rest. I scheduled it for overnight, restarted it in the morning and it has appeared to fundamentally bollox itself.

Problems are now: 

- Auto rotate works intermittently, appears to be no permanent way of fixing this.

-Typing on forums is a nightmare. The text will stop appearing on screen and I need to switch out of Chrome and back in to make it appear. Sometimes I think I've submitted the post but turn out not to have.

- Signal is frequently zero even though the indicator states full 4G+ strength.

- WiFi calls cut in and out once every 2 seconds so I have to kill it and go to mobile data. I don't want a WiFi call at any time, I want to use data but still have the WiFi on

- Difficult to wake the device sometimes.

-Messenger only wakes up when I open the app, so I miss messages that were sent ages ago if I don't access it for a while.

Turning the phone off and on again seems to have no effect.

I'm going to get a Samsung in the new year.

5 months is crap. This Moto G6 is over 2 years old and still works fine with plenty of battery life. It doesn't stop me typing shite, though.

got a 3 year old galaxy s8 that i've absolutely hammered, plu many hours of it overheating being used as a satnav on a hot day

battery life isn't that good anymore but other than that it's been utterly rock solid

Not personal as they are in my mates paddock on hard standing. His workshop is by the road ,a third of the way is a line of willow trees then further along on one side hard standing with a horsebox, car trailer and my two cars. On the other side a shepherds hut and outside seating area. My mate takes his dogs down there everyday, hense I know it happened lastnight. Just kids having fun* smashing things.

I've had pretty good luck with most of my phones.  I still have the Vodafone 858 Smart which I bought nearly 10 years ago - first Android phone I ever bought - still working fine (although it won't run the latest versions of Android so updating apps is a pain) and on standby with a spare sim card in it the battery will still last a week or more.

Got fooled into buying a kitchen mixer last Black Friday from what now looks like a scam website. Followed a link from bbc good food website so thought it legit, but no communication for a week since the “ your order has been processed email “. Suspicion raised I looked at trust pilot and it seems it’s a scam.  Oddly though no money has been taken from my credit card.

Anyway, been on the phone to a Scottish chap ( I stay with Sainsbury’s as they have uk operators ) who closed that account and moved everything to a new one just in case. Just have to wait for the new card now and change the payment details for amazon, naked wines and PayPal etc. 

I seemed to have been saved by receiving a new card the day after I placed the order with the dodgy site and using it straight away which will have had the effect of cancelling the old card.

First time I’ve been stupid in falling for this sort of thing.

What's the name of the site?  I'm a bit concerned over a purchase I made yesterday - although, have received an email from the courier saying they have "received instruction to deliver the parcel although they don't have it yet".

Maybe, trustpilot reviews seem to show no one has got anything. Company recently set up too. Website looked ok, but now there’s no contact information.

 

moral learned from this, is to not rush into purchases on Black Friday offers.

First (non-Boris) MOT on the modern Shit-tron C3. Moved house so new garage and tester. Checked over well, gave it a wash and clean and in it went. But what’s this I spy:

the near side wiper (only 3 months old) had a little piece of leaf stuck under it, so it smeared a little line over the screen. Major defect? Really? Then to make it worse when I got there he’d fitted a new wiper, rather than just removing the leaf. And he’d ‘disposed’ of the old one. And managed to add 50,000 miles to the test certificate. And had made zero concession to COVID, had to squeeze into his tiny unventilated office to pay....

The quest for a decent local tester continues - the vans in Tuesday to another promising looking place.

Remember that MOT testers are flat out busy at the moment due to covid tests and normal ones . 
If you knew that there was a leaf under the wiper when you presented it then why didn’t you pull it out ?

Getting the mileage wrong is shit tho .
