Burnside
Getting the distinct feeling, I've been fucked over royally with a Fiat Punto that I recently brought. Thrid gear started crunching every time it's selected on the way home. So after some internet searching and speaking to a local Fiat specialist. It looks like a used box / rebuild is needed. Then today after changing the oil. Which thank's to Fiat putting the oil filter too close to the block. Ment my oil filter removal tool wouldn't fit. Cue a hammer and screwdriver, plus swearing. I thankfully got that all sorted and back togther. Then got the engine started and now the bastard thing smoking it arse off! New POD

Lacquer Peel
People always have something more important to spend their money on. I mean a pair of new tyres for that, what we talking for some budgets? £70 for the pair? I don’t buy it that they’ve not seen it. I can see it now it’ll be that they can’t afford the £70 for the tyres but can afford £25 for a takeaway. Priorities all to cock. Hopefully it’ll have been impounded and another idiot off the road. How do you know any of this? Some people are blissfully ignorant about cars and car maintenance despite them being 1500kg potential killing machines. Last grump, on the way to site this morning I get to the roundabout outside Morrison’s near home to find some absolute cunt has spilt about a million gallons (ok slight exaggeration!) of diesel around the fucking roundabout. It's a shame as the car in good condition otherwise and has a almost Full Dealer History etc. I think that I'll just have to accept that I'm in for a hefty bill and get on with it. Besides I'd lose too much if I bailed on it now, as I'd have to sell it as is for spares or repair. Then I'd have the risk of buying something else that could be just as bad or worse. vulgalour
There's an old geezer local that I've had the misfortune to be stuck behind a couple of times, doesn't seem able to exceed 20mph in his generic hatchback, which is fine on most local roads but he's like it on 50mph roads too. That's not entirely the grump, old slow drivers are out there and while a hazard, they're rare. The grump is today he nearly ran into me. I'd just about finished coming out of my parking bay, in reverse, with all the shoulder checks and slow speed and mirror use that you have to do in a car park and there was plenty of time for me to finish the maneouvre, stick it in first, and be away. That is, until Old Geezer decided that before my car was fully out of the parking bay, he was coming out of his without checking his mirrors so not only did he nearly reverse into me, when I'd backed up to give him enough room to leave his bay and then drive off, he kept reversing without checking his mirrors. A small beep of the horn to let him know there was a car behind him and he momentarily stopped, didn't check anything, and kept reversing! It was like I was completely invisible even though I was sat right behind him with my lights on. Obviously I moved out of the way, because I'm not about to let him reverse into me, and eventually he set off, completely oblivious to two pedestrians that had started to cross while he was stopped who then had to abort crossing the road. He then completely ignored a pedestrian crossing with pedestrians on it, and a junction with traffic approaching, and carried on down the car park. I took the longer route out to avoid him and as I was coming up to a junction he sailed out completely oblivious to me and the other cars. It was actually quite frightening to watch someone driving so dangerously at such a low speed and, judging by the damage all around the corners of the car, I daresay he's reversed and driven into plenty of other unsuspecting things during its lifetime. Very much the stereotype of the dangerous elderly driver, sadly, and I only hope he hangs up the keys before he has a serious incident.

I popped the disc back on, adjusted it but I think it was working anyhow. So I've looked at the other side, the side that I've just spent loads of money on getting repaired and the handbrake is non existent. On top of that, my back was getting better but its knackered again now. I'm taking it back and I'm getting them to sort it and I'm taking some pain killers and having a lie down. Bit miffed really. meggersdog
Fella from the unit opposite came in yesterday. His wife had taken her car to a local main dealer for an MoT and it had failed on headlamp beam incorrect. They had quoted £800 including vat and fitting for two new headlamps.Told him maybe the bulbs are in wrong or the lenses need polishing and the tester had worded it wrong. Told him to bring the car in today and I'll have a look on the beam setter. Peugeot main dealer and the car is a Land Rover Freelander. Came in today, lenses are as clear as day.The reflectors are shiney with no evidence of pitting. On the beam setter the kick-up is correct but the horizontal line is just slightly fuzzy. Two new bulbs later and it's fixed. Burnside, myglaren, BL Bloke and 4 others 6
Fumbler
Well I WAS going to help Brother Fumbler in doing his brake pads at the unit, however, we forgot the keys to the unit! Fucking brilliant. We also replaced the head unit and GPS, hooked up the original GPS antenna and secured the dashcam, only to have my wiring harness fail and cut sound to most of the car's speakers. ARSE.
