I sympathise, I'm 26 and am missing 4 teeth, one disintegrated leaving a small stub and the root, imagine that will start to hurt in a years time. And I clean my teeth 2-3 times a day, never drink coke although eat alot of other shit.

My daughters are coming through now, I tell her enjoy them whilst their there (she's only 18m). I've decided I;m going to be a dad from hell and make her take care of them.

Does this car have an MOT? Simple enough question, I would have thought.

Is that a yes, or a no? Like pulling teeth! I suspect it doesn't.

Original ad says it has MOT [but not for how long..] with the propensity these have for having a rabid dislike of moisture, I'd be a bit wary................

Yeah. He claims it's solid underneath, but looking at the state of the exterior I'd honestly be surprised if it is. It's obviously been kept outside, so as you say, be wary! He emailed me some more photos but they're so small I can't make out any detail. It appears to have new sills fitted but to what standard the work's been done to, who knows. The interior looks nice though.

I bought a PA some time ago, that had really good outer panels, and I was assured it was "good underneath". Bought it, laid it up for a year, when I went to have a closer look, the bloody thing was actually bowing in the middle. The outer panels where all that was keeping the thing in one piece. Outer sills were fine.there were NO inner sills, and the front bulkhead was disguised chicken wire and newspaper, with a healthy coating of black Shultz.

A bit of an "oh shit" moment! Unfortunately that's old Vauxhalls for you. My dad's FB looked really nice with lots of shiny chrome, an expensive retrimmed interior and gleaming paintjob. He left it out in the rain for a couple of days and the wings, wheelarches, door bottoms, bonnet and even the sills started bubbling up with rust. All the crusty bits had simply been stuffed with filler when the car was "restored" in the early 90's.

If this F-Type had been local I would have gone to view it by now, just to see how bad it is! To be fair, £1250 doesn't buy you much F Victor, so as long as it's still got sills, floors and a bulkhead it could be a good buy.

My ma always made me brush my teeth and it paid off. Unfortunately, I cracked both my bottom middle teeth opening bottle tops (why?), and I left them, they went bad and had to have fillings a few years ago. Due to the shocking work (he has his own practice and has been my dentist since I had teeth), both fillings came loose not long after, and I went back and another dentist (he was about 20 years old) did a proper job.

One thing I've learned in life, I will always look after my teeth. It's also very important to use dental floss and those interdental brushes.

There is nothing worse than toothache, missing teeth, fillings, etc.

BTW, Peroxil is great if you get a pain in your gum/tooth, use it for a day and the pain will go. ;)

This in my local paper makes me angry,

What type of sub human scum that populates this planet takes pleasure from torturing defenceless animals?

Hope they die in unspeakable agony tomorrow if not sooner.

That utterly pisses me off no end. To me, that is akin to beating a vulnerable human who cannot protect themselves. I've not clicked the link as stuff like this gets to me.

I wish those scum who did that a terrible and painful death. I'm sorry to say it but that is how I feel.

What kind of utter moron is too busy imagining how cool they'd look cruising round in an Elswick Envoy to remember how hot baked potatoes can be, straight out of the oven?

Anybody got any Savlon gloves I can borrow?

Bastard motherfuckers. they need their fucking heads stamping on. I have been seething with rage since I read that.

I haven't clicked on it as it's bad for my ticker.

I did read one via FB the other day that made me cry like a baby, there are some truly disgusting fucktards around.

My B-I-L was moving one of my Betas earlier and clipped the wing mirror. Unfortunately the wing mirror on Betas is attached to the quarter-light, which is now broken  ... arse.

I don't suppose anyone knows where I could get an offside quarter-light for a Lancia Beta.

The dog sabotaged my attempt to go downstairs with a coffee cup in my hand earlier by putting his tail between my foot and stair tread and making me slip and end up with my already injured hand and wrist and the whole length of my arm jammed between the stairlift rail and the wall.  All the healing this injury has done over the past week is now worse than when it started and I'm munching on anti-inflammatory painkillers to prevent my hand ballooning.

I am not looking forward to driving to the garage to get my suspension sorted out tomorrow.  I'm also not overjoyed that after breaking my bed when I had to move it, the bed my parents kindly bought to replace it (apparently, gaffer tape and rope is not a worthy repair for my broken bed) comes with the problem of my Dad wanting to build it NOW NOW NOW.

First world problems and all that, but now I have a house full of car interior I can't swap, furniture I can't build and paid work I can't work on that I was due to make a gentle start with this weekend and now won't get underway for probably another week thanks to the stupid dog's stupid tail and my stupid clumsiness and the stupid stairlift.

I had that with an Escort Eclipse ten or so years ago. Apparently it belonged to an unsavoury individual before me and I was pulled over on an almost daily basis. I ended up keeping my MoT, licence and insurance cert in the car as I got so sick of constant producer slips.

Wrote a letter of complaint to the local CC eventually and they left me alone after that

I'm 34 with 3 broken teeth, and one with a chip. Thankfully the broken ones are quite far back so not really noticeable. Three have just disintegrated for whatever reason despite me cleaning them twice a day and using listerine.

The chipped one is at the front, caused when I was working on an ice cream van in 1996.

It was an old Bedford CF With no passenger seat, so I had to sit on an upturned juice bottle crate. I was drinking a coke from a glass bottle when the driver decided to do an emergency stop , catapulting me forward and smashing my tooth off said glass bottle.

I'm enjoying a full set of teeth currently, for the last 6 years have been nipping to Poland each summer and now have 4 implants along with 5 or 6 crowns, just have to look after them now, all the work has been to fix previous repairs, the first implant 6 years ago was to replace an ill fitting front crown that my old boozy breathed dentist fitted under duress claiming it would only last 6 months and should be pulled, can't do a bridge, blah blah. The tooth in question had broken after about a year of filling, filling falls out, filling, filling falls out, grinding a little more away each time. Interestingly that crown lasted 15 years. I stopped going to that dentist when he injected on the left then started drilling on the right.

My Del Amitri vinyl I waited all my life for since Dad and his mates used to drink drive us to various pubs and I heard it on the jukebox is mishapen. Plays ok though. What were my parents thinking having a kid I'll never know

After getting about £20 more a week at work the council have decided I'm now earning too much to get Housing Benefit, and have to pay back the last 2 months worth. I might as well just not bother going to work today since I'd get almost as much by being on the dole.

Also had another no show on the Merc. If it doesn't sell tonight I think I'll just admit defeat and send it over the bridge

Sounds very frustrating, but we've all been there. Bridge money isn't too strong at present, probably £160-180 for something W124 sized.

I reckon you could get double that if you persist a bit more and wait for someone serious to turn up. Alternatively, offer it on here for scrap money and one of us is bound to take it on and get a few more winters out of it.

Have you tried exporters? Some Mercs can make pretty good money, might be worth a mooch about on OvalChat or somewhere like that.
