I've just been following this twat up the road, 200cc Quad with no crash helmet or protective bodygear, At one point on the roundabout he even had it on 2 wheels whilst only doing 25 mph as well as missing a few other cars with late braking.

I thought you had to wear a hat when on the road with these, if not, why not?.

theres a loon lives near me takes his trophy wife out with him on his quad

no helmets, no protective gear, and both wearing nike trainers

Ive been bidding on cheap, 99p - no reserve, car audio gear. I just like to buy stuff that was once expensive and has plenty of life left in it, as Im sure most on here do.

Anyway, Ive been buying for the Prelude as I just fancy having a decent-ish stereo.

Saw an amplfier, it had a 99p start and was local so I boshed 3quid on it and forgot about it.

I happened to be on ebay as it finished (for £2.60) so I rang the seller.

Seller: 'well, how much did it finish for',

'2.60...' says I, '....and Im only In wakey so I can collect tonight...'

'Oh....' says he, '....I really wanted more than that, can't you just pay via paypal so I can post it to make up the price?'

Me: 'no mate, Im bidding on cheap local stuff so I can collect it...'

Seller: ' well, Im not happy about the price its gone for, so it'll be £5 on collection and you can have it, oh and its not in Leeds anymore, Ive taken it to the otherside of Huddersfield'

Me, 'oh, right, I'll have to plan a time to bob over. I'll give you a ring'

The next day he opened a non-payment dispute with ebay, is this gonna end up being my first neg transaction?

Can you not contact ebay an tell them that he refused to sell it for the price it finished for?

sellers can't leave anything other than positive feedback for buyers...

but they can be very negative in their comments - and in some incidences if you complain about the sellers comment, ebay will remove both buyer and seller comments - so often a weatherworn seller will use personel info, as thats a definate removal form ebay

Next to impossible to pull over - up onto the pavement, down there till you get to the first alleyway or park, across a field and away. Not worth getting the helicopter pilot out of bed for so they just get away.

Yeh, but even being negative in words means nothing, no-one actually reads all the feedback comments so once it's about 10 comments down the page it's forgotten about..

How about paying the £2.60 by paypal and arranging collection later? If he refuses to sell it to you for that you can mark it as item not received and get your money back as he won't have proof of postage or anything else

Posted

I sent him a message earlier basically saying Im not impressed that he's opened a dispute but still I want to collect.

He's mailed me back saying the dispute opened automatically as thats how he's got his account set up, and if I want to collect the amps now in Swansea as he's taken it there with him to look after his parents. He did say its ready to post if I just want to pay via paypal, or if Ive got friends/realitives in the area they can come and collect.

Hmmm.

He sounds like the biggest twat of all time. Just neg his ass, lodge a complaint and move on, maybe remembering to fuck up a few of his future auctions for a laugh.

simple

get someone in swansea to collect and pay cash

ask seller for details of best day to collect, and swansea address

Posted

Yeah, but make him wait in all day, then pay in pennies....

we are all grumpy in my house tonight, as SWMBO's 14-year-old, no.2 son left home unexpectedly at teatime announcing he was off to live with his dad who he hasnt seen for at least 6 years, and was never sober when he did turn up. :(

there was no argument, or dummy spitting beforehand - just packed a bag and buggered off

Email Ebay about him saying he's avoiding fees by charging excessive postage and they'll rip him a new one. About the only thing they do take action on is when they might miss out on a

few quid in fees from sellers.

Doesn't the auction have "item location" as the Leeds area? He sounds like a prize twat to be honest, I reckon you'll have an easier time just moving on and leaving him to masturbate himself to sleep in his parents attic room, cuddling £2.60 worth of amp.

Arse! I've had a few and I'm about to take mutha_claim to the casino to celebrate her birthday.

Certainly does, It popped up on searches as less than 5miles away and as being in Leeds.

here is the ad. I (stupidly) assumed it would be an easy transaction as the ad is well writen and he doesn't come across as a muling mong.

How rong I wuz.

Olympic Tickets. Just applied on-line for a couple of events. I know there'll be a whole load of people grumpy at the whole thing but its not going to happen near my home ever again in my life so I'm going to go. Plus I'm already paying plenty of tax for it anyway.

But, only when you get through to the confirmation page does it tell you that there's an extra £6 for "secure delivery". Six fuggin' pounds! For an envelope with a few bits of paper/card in! That you're not actually going to get for over a year!

Hmmm.

Dave, I'm sorry but this is horse shit.

A couple of things. 'The dispute opened automatically because that's how he's got his account set up' - so he set it up like that then. And the amp now being in Swansea - sulky little bastard. Bet you the amp hasn't left Leeds and he's upset for what it went for so he's stringing you along. You mail him back saying that if he doesn't understand the concept of an auction he shouldn't sell things on eBay. If he puts things online without a reserve and they subsequently sell for a half a groat, that's TOUGH SHIT and he should man up. I've had to let stuff go for pennies because I didn't put a reserve on them, I learnt pretty quick I can tell you. On the flip side I've had worthless pieces of rubbish go for £40-50 to my total surprise.

I'd be reporting him to eBay as others have said, and get him to send his pedantry in an email. eBay will batter him for it one way or another. I find it hilarious he's prepared to do all this for the sake of making a £2.60 item up to a fiver.

Then again, he is from Yorkshire.

Posted

To be fair its gonna cost him a couple of quid to post the fuggin thing so although he's deviously trying all means to coerce you into sending him additional money, he's only gonna end up spending it down the post office anyway like a 'Flamin' dole-bludger' (©Alf Stewart, Home + Away) Whats his game I wonder? Or is he just shit thick.

Posted

He's playing the ebay game without knowing wtf he's doing.

If you cannot afford to take a hit, don't list things on ebay without a reserve as it's gonna bite you in the arse at some point.

Posted

Well, he's using eBay for what it was intended for - having a clearout. But he's heard stories down the pub of how you can make your living on ebay by charging a fortune for postage, and not bothering with those pesky reserve fees and now as Pete says it's bitten him on the arse, left him sulking like a child.

I stick to using ebay for cheap tat that I'm charging peanuts for - if it goes wrong, then sod it.

Seems my relationship is already in the "it's complicated" stage. Sigh.

I'm in shock at the moment, I sold my Bora to this nice chap on Friday, all went well, he loved the car, left me £1700 deposit and told me he'll contact me to arrange collecting it in the next few days and left with his wife and kids.

I've just been looking on my local newspaper website and saw a article about a crash were someone was killed yesterday morning, just read it, and it's him. :(

It's the right name, right village, right age, right job everything, I'm in shock, He told me he was a keen motorbiker as well, Seems like he was killed on his bike.

I'm not sure what to do, I think it's best to wait for his wife on contact me to collect the money back from us, I don't know if it's a good idea for me to ring her.

I'm gutted for them all.
