Well, you missed out.

They utterly fucking rocked at the Barrowlands. There were a few songs from The Centre Won't Hold (which I personally quite like), but they also delved deep into the back catalogue.

Highlights were the pedal mashing between songs then segueing into the next without so much as a breath, standing on the amps while shredding to backlit strobe lights, and heckling the hecklers back.

Glad you enjoyed it. Hecklers? What was that all about? The reports from my friends in Manchester who did go said it was a bit meh, and nowhere near as good as the Albert Hall show in 2015 (which was a good gig).

Tried to listen to the album again last night, it still sounds like shit to me. Oh well.

Bloody tenants! Myself andmy brother have rented out our late mothers house since she passed away. Fully redecorated, new carpets, new kitchen, new bathroom, it was all done 3 years ago and let out. First year all good, but after that it became obvious they could not afford it. Let to a couple with a son in his 20s with anxiety issues, her health has deteriorated. I gave permission for one small dog.

Over time 1 dog became 3, daughter and young grandchild moved in. Rent arrears steadily increased (to over 6 months) but they paid what they could, and I am too bloody soft. Went out of my way to help. This morning the postie arrived with a recorded delivery package. In it 2 sets of keys and a letter, without forwarding address saying they have left.....

They've probably gone off to worry a different landlord.

I've been saying we wouldn't move but..... it sounds like a bloody lovely bungalow!  Just what we need really, and not that far from Inverness for access to half the family.  We could soon rent out this house.

Here you go, 700 quid a month to a shiter with fresh paint and all new carpets! :-)

Spent the day cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and under the bed in the spare room etc. Created 5 bin bags full of crap.

Just took the bags outside to lob them in the back of the Legacy to take them to the tip and the boot appears to be broken and won't open FFS.

Will look at it in the morning. Mrs (probably not for long) Imp will have to take them in the morning in her car, so not all bad. I hate going to the tip.

Renting houses out must be a sodding nightmare. It must be pretty much impossible not to go round with the lads and throw these twats out on to the streets, law or no law. I expect it's just the usual shit house chancers in life, preying on the kind before mugging them and moving (literally) onto the next poor victim.

I've sold mine. Can't be arsed with the hassle. Last lot proper fucked it.

I can't even go to places where I might see the old tenants as I don't trust my temper.

Come the revolution I'm going to introduce a new sport to be shown in place of EastEnders where wanna be chavettes that think the show is a guide to how to live in society are forced to fight each other to the death with the losers strung up from lampposts & Thier sterilised spawn breeding partners chained around them to starve to death along with Thier spawn as an example.

As I'm sick of being around these scum it seems impossible to escape them these days, the human race is fucked not the planet if these self entitled scum are the future of it .

That's lovely!  Plenty of room on that drive to park a Cadillac and a Jag... ;)

However, Mrs has vetoed, saying if we were to move, she'd rather move within Barrow.

What's the internet speed like up there?

I believe it is OK in the village, my mother who was 93 never had it, but the tenants had it I think and never complained.

Beach and nature reserve 1/2 a mile walk away, was on the 3 mile beach the other day and there was no one else to be seen :-) Village is called St Cyrus

Go to see a C2 chap on phone says it runs really well, yeah as-long as you don't want to turn,  turn right a new born could do it turn right and you need to be a power lifter. WTF has gone on there? it was like the power steering was bust only going right.  Well that was a waste of time, argh.

Barrow <> St Cyrus? Does she build submarines for a living? If not her priorities seem off-kilter.

Don't forget we both qualify as senior citizens now, and neither of us is in the peak of health, so moving at all isn't something we would look forward to, never mind 350 miles away!

The house does look ideal, I have to say.  Our present house isn't, by some distance, but at least we own it outright.

I am concerned as well as grumpy; currently washing all my bedding again as Phoebe has poo'd on it... yet again. That makes every day this week. It's not her fault she does it in her sleep and it surprises her no end, if she'd just poo and keep still, it wouldn't be to bad, but she wriggles and kicks her legs and consequently makes a proper bloody horrible mess. It doesn't matter how often I take her out  she wee's okay but it's a rare event (worthy of acclaim and salutations) if she poops outside. She's even done it in the car before now, that is a proper mess.

I really don't know what to do about it.

I know... at 5;00 in the morning it's bloody tempting! I know she can't help it and it's just 'one of those things' we are going to have to live with but it does get a tad wearing. She's 12 and a half now and has been sickly all her life, always in the wars (peritanitus, broken legs) and she has been a cripple for the last 6 years and just like me, she's getting worse. My ability to help her walk is deminishing as well so it's not a great situation. I wish I could do more for her, I long for the days when she was always running full pelt and falling in oceans because she's clumsy.

£695 a month plus council tax etc. No increases for 3 years. Might try for £750 this time but will take advice from the estate/letting agents. House is valued at about £200k so returns up here are not good.

Yeah, return isn't the best. But if it were steady and you had decent tenants who pay on time it's okay.

It's a small thing, but is boiling my piss. Train tickets that don't work.

Last September useless tossers Northern added "valid only via Wakefield" to my ticket, which is pointless as there's one line to Leeds, and Wakefield is on it. Since this improvement the return section always, and I mean always is rejected in the barriers at Leeds "seek assistance". So queue for the bored bloke who either thinks you are a retard who can't put a ticket in a slot, or a master criminal who's forging rail tickets.

Tried #northernassist on twatter, and emailing the email us about something fucked form. At first they're passing it to the relevant who gives a fuck department. Then they just ignore you. Short of going into the station with a fake bomb and holding the place to ransom I doubt I'll ever get the fuckers fixed.

Fuck that's annoying. Nearly need the whole side of the car painted to get rid of that. I'm sad for my old car too. Why are folk such dicks?

Any joy with the Legacy's non-opening boot? I had similar bother with my Forester; after worrying that the locking module was on its way out, all it took was a good squirt of 3-in-1 oil up into the mechanism and it's been grand ever since.

Took a while to persuade it to open first, mind...

There's an Iranian family live opposite me, been here for at least 20 years and probably more.

The woman had a Crossfire until recently but now has a Peugeot sports thingy in a dark smoky blue and someone has done that all the way down the nearside of hers.

Absolutely mindless.

I bought a new washing machine for one of the girls last August.  Packed up last week.

Engineer came to fix it.  Needs a new motor and control board, a week before he comes back.

I did her washing on Saturday & yesterday.  Put it on a 30° wash.  The washer is slow, checked after an hour and my washer had paused itself.  set it away again, an hour later, same thing and then again an hour after that.

Second lot was better, only did it before the final rinse & spin.

All day to wash two lots of clothes.

At least it worked properly yesterday at 40°

It is suspiciously quiet now, supposed to be doing my delayed washing.

Try and check the water is getting heated . The washer will pause while it is done .

It was only on the (rarely used) 30° cycle and then mainly the rinse cycle.

Pushing the 'go' button set it away again - go button flashes while paused, I use it occasionally when cleaning the machine - fill with bleach and cold water then abandon it for a few hours (until I remember it)

I managed to clobber the civic's wing mirror off a wheely bin this afternoon and it's now gone all mr floppy :(

I'm not overly upset as  it's been previously bodged and had done well to last this long

IMG_8299.thumb.JPG.231358d179e19211b5b48fbbe99926bf.JPG

but how long has it lasted ? There's a little bit of paper scrunched up in the hinge, which of the 9 previous owners did that ?

Fixing shall commence later on, most likely involving self tappers and a blob or two of epoxy :)
