Mr Laurence
I’ve heard of it being done before. The wheels will need modifying with clips for hubcaps though afaik
bunglebus
Hasn't Johnny Smith done that on his Allegro project? I would think the clips off something like a pre-68 VW wheel would work as they rivet on rather than the cap clipping over part of the wheel itself https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/111601131-hubcap-securing-clip.html?gclid=CjwKCAiA8ov_BRAoEiwAOZogwZVS662ECvTGZdPoNd7jUX00N1LWHg7ODJqtAAT6BzDG-zD5lCMPFhoC6JsQAvD_BwE 88 pence each
New POD
They should be 88p for 10.
New POD
I've got a really nice stainless mixing bowl. It would definately be the perfect shape.
Supernaut
Hmm. I have some lovely stainless steel wheel trims for the Saab 9000 but not enough clips for them. At 88p those can fuck off though. I'd need about £20 worth, at least!
somewhatfoolish
I'd be getting a few metres of stainless steel band strapping and DIY those; 88 pee is taking the pee.
AnthonyG
The only modern car I’ve seen with dog dishes was the ‘New Beetle Mk2’, or however VW defined the one they launched around about 2013. I don’t expect VW added lugs to the steel wheels in the old school way, so it be worth having a look at one to see how it works. I would add that it may be a clever full wheel trim with body colour bits to make it look like the old ones - never seen one up close.
