I love a nice W123 and that's in a good colour,

It would be good to check the front inner wings out carefully, where the bonnet springs are located for rust

One of the many 3.0Essex Springbok Mk 2 Granada’s that’s floating around for sale. Supposedly rust free, I think the values are being kept down because theses so many of the buggers over here!

and you said I could have any car advertised for less than £10,000 pounds

Friend of mine had exactly the same idea and bought himself this Zetec-powered Consul Capri for Christmas:

...leaves enough change to scratch the 190E 2.6 itch as well, complete with beige interior and trimz.

enough for an easyjet flight and some snacks to go fetch it left

Good choice — hopefully this link works better: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1279958

What you really want is my Victor though, and forget Easyjet.

jowett.jpg

In the 80s I knew a guy that owned a Jowett Jupiter or it might've been a javelin , he took it to France on a Beaujolais run for charity only there was a blizzard and he dropped a wheel into a gulley at the side of the road and scalextric'd it into a bridge

still managed to drive it home with the front wing and nose all caved in, didn't break any wine

Well how strange, that's my old car! So;d it in 2001/2 as the bulkhead was seriously rusted and got £750 for it! Seat were velour and worn but un torn and it was utterly gutless for some reason.

They are cars that have risen in value with vigour, Mrs6C and I looked at a couple in the 1990s and they were affordable just the examples we looked at were not right so we did not buy. I love the look of then.

Luckily because they have started to rise in value as well 9 years ago we bought an 3.0 S manual Saloon with MOT. Turned out it had more rust that we were led to believe, but it was rear wheel arch, boot lid plus stuff like that and the worst was the rear quarter had been fibre glassed to the petrol tank to repair both.

Less than 10k?

If only my balls were made of hollow titanium, with a coating of polychristaline cubic boron nitride, and filled with a solid flint.

I think an old school  GM product like a Monaro is a safer bet this SantaMas than most 21st century shite. Go for it.
