ruffgeezer
I mean yes, it's rather unrefined but very smooth when motoring.
ruffgeezer
And the fuel pump has shat itself big style. Stranded. I think this car wants to die. loserone, Cavcraft, Jim Bell and 2 others

purplebargeken
Oh FFS. This is the same bugger that you just fixed. Oh bollocks, ungrateful bastard car.
ruffgeezer
Luckily not too far from base, so we gave it a tug with my dad's van. I shall have it apart again tomorrow I suppose for an autopsy. Cavcraft, Burnside and colino 2
ruffgeezer
It's a gift that keeps on giving... A pipe I'd tried my hardest not to disturb broke anyway, on the plus side at least it isn't the total pump fuckerage that I'd feared. Isaac Hunt
FFS.... you might not have disturbed it, but it doesn't mean it wasn't disturbed via previous attention. as you say, good that it looks as though it is other than the pump ruffgeezer
ruffgeezer
Aye, I easy started it at the roadside and it was gushing everywhere hence I thought it was a pump issue. Cavcraft
Isaac Hunt
Looks ideal for the ‘coventry method’ of fuel pipe retention ‘a la fuel filter stylie’.
ruffgeezer
Not my style, ordered another one from Merc (after an attempt and fitting a new end to the hard pipe failed). Another fifty odd quid in. Cavcraft and colino 1
Minimad5
Well done for sorting this properly. Scares me when folk bodge up shit, 'Yeah but it's just an old car ain't it ?' 🤦♂️. loserone, Low Horatio gearbox and Cavcraft
ruffgeezer
I don't have a choice really. Too much money in it not to, and the Volvo's attempt at self immoliation means I need a working vehicle.

ruffgeezer
Yeah, it's that hard stuff that is shit to work with, I spent nearly an hour gently heating a bit to try and fit a new end but it was having none of it. Fair play for sticking with it, I did the same with my ml when the turbo went again only 10 months into warranty. I did the maths (man) in my head and at the time even with the issue it was still a £1500 car and they're simply was nothing else out there that could do what it did for that or even double that and then was I just walking into further issues down the line? Swapped it out after pointing out basic engineering failures (turbo technics main main was spot on to be fair, goons on the phone not so) and had another 4 or 5 years out of it relatively * trouble free. Gave up in the end when the key brain thing decided to shit itself and bought a Toyota that naturally, worked perfectly. Got £450 scrap for it when they were struggling to make a grand on gumtree..... Now of course when I fancy another they're £8,000,000 for a basket case!! ruffgeezer
Yes it's true, other than smelling of diesel, the Merc is in fact sorted once again, and I'm pleased to report the auto box has emerged unscathed from it's trip behind the van (that'll be for sale soon too if anyone fancies a slightly down at heel Peugeot Expert Hdi) Burnside, Isaac Hunt, The_Equalizer and 3 others
ruffgeezer
Now looking for a new home as I am (a) moving soon and therefore brassic and (b) overdue collecting a car I agreed to buy last year. Burnside and loserone
