I'm afraid I'd rather have that HA !

There seems to be Bellett & Bellel mentioned, are they separate vehicles?

The Contessa was never sold in the UK, probably the only one here is in the sceience museum. Funny little car, a cross between Triumph 1300/2000 and Renault 8.

The Bellel was Isuzu's first own design car after the Minx they built under licence. The Bellett followed it and I think was sold alongside for a short time and is a much nicer looking car, Italian styling. I think both were available as diesels incidentally. Neither UK available unfortunately.

Nigel, I hope I can shake your legendary car buying hands late feb, just lemme know when/where.

Hino made 'normal' cars from the 4CV (same as the Renault but with a Hino badge) in 1953 until about 1970, see http://www.hinosamurai.org/Contents/cars/cars_e.html. Apparently they build a few in Holland but that didn't work out, and less than a 1000 were imported to Europe.

The Contessa was a Michelotti design, so the Triumph similarity is no surprise?

Shame this coupe was only done as a prototype...

Hold on, did I just read they made a Toyota V8-powered model called Dandy??
