Saabnut
Due to the current situation, all the car shows I normally do this year have been cancelled, from the big ones (NEC, Lemans and Lemans Classic) to the small local gatherings. A couple of weeks ago, one of the clubs I belong to (Tayside Classic Car Club) said that the local miniature railway in Arbroath, Kerrs, was closing permanently and the final weekend would be this weekend. As the railway was established in 1935 and @puddlethumper had fixed the door on my 1934 Rolls Royce, I thought I would take it along. My original plan was to go tomorrow, but got the car out of the shed yesterday after 4 years and threw a bucket of water over it to get rid of the worst of the dust. This morning was very nice with sun so decided to go today. Had such a good day out I am going again tomorrow. The Royce must have had literally thousands of photos taken of it. Anyway, a few photos below. There was also some lovely old buses there but will put those in the bushite thread. I will try and get some better pictures of the rolling stock tomorrow. lesapandre
Interested how radical the cyclops Rover must have looked in the 40's. The little railway seemed a shame to close what a pity for the local area. Saabnut and eddyramrod
doug
If you go tomorrow you have got to get a photo of that lassie in the leggings wearing the other lassies jacket. timolloyd, eddyramrod, High Jetter and 1 other
Saabnut
Back to Arbroath again on Sunday, and a lot more cars but huge numbers of people, so much so it was impossible to find time for photos or get pics without people in the way. The old Royce covered 160 miles this weekend with absolutely no problems. One additional car today, which is the one I would have taken home was a lowlight Morris Minor. The owner bought it as a standard 918cc car in 1972 and is still working on it. Normally I am not a huge fan of modified classics, but this one looked well and it was obviously done to a high standard and was cherished. It is also a two seater these days due to this: Yes, A Chevrolet Corvette LS1 engine, installed in 1998! Bonkers, but Ace! juular, crad, dome and 3 others
