bigstraight6
I love those latest Stagecoach "Bus of Britain" adverts, they are an ironic parody based heavily on "Little Britain", though it really brings Home the message as to why I for one will not travel on Public transport, I mean who wants to pay to make a journey sat next to a flatulant eco warrior or an old rip thats spent to long under a Sun lamp I think I would rather continue to pay through the nose for fuel and enjoy the pleasure of my own company and space
mouseflakes
Yay! I love those too. Though I imagine the ad agency run the risk of them 'back-firing', they're very entertaining!!

Mr Lobster
Memorable enough ads but still wouldn't make me go on one of their buses!
retrogeezer
mildly amusing, shame the 'convenient' travel is totally misleading and I don't know of any buses that go directly to the door of an office block unless it's a bus that the company itself run. Richard
Shite isn't really a derogatory term on this board though.A couple of years ago I went from Dundee to London by Megabus for £1. Imagine my delight when the bus that turned up was a very battered 1989 Leyland Olympian with a strong smell of exhaust fumes inside. Luckily it transpired that the Leyland was only going to Glasgow and then we would be transferred to a brand new Neoplan. The Neoplan was so quiet and smooth that you couldn't tell it was moving unless you looked out of the window. I think I experienced the shitest and the best Stagecoach had to offer on that journey. Spottedlaurel
Cor, yeah! The sort of random stuff that when a few years older would be pressed into duty by the local rural bus companies, wish I'd got a few pic's of the crocks we went to school in.Did they do a version of that with twin sets of front steering wheels? Justin Case
Did they do a version of that with twin sets of front steering wheels?Yes it was the Bedford VAL 14, which of course played a starring role in 'The Italian Job'
mk2_craig
Self Preservation, Society etc Edit. This link is good - some info on the vehicles used in the 'Job: http://www.theitalianjob.com/cars_othervehicles.htm
Richard
That A60 that falls off the transporter in The Italian Job can't have been more than 8 years old, and was probably a lot newer, but it has massive holes in its sills.I believe NAN404D really did belong to the Pakistani Ambassador and he really didn't know they had it. mk2_craig
Interesting to check out DVLA's records on some of the reg numbers: ALR453B "Multicoloured" Tax cashed in 17 03 1987 BKO686C "Blue" Unlicensed since 01 04 1992 HMP729G - Bizarrely this is carried by a 1999 Mazda MX-5 GPF146G "White" SURVIVES! Taxed till end March OEG 103G - despite being ramp rolled in the film, the registration is on a Red 1986 Austin Mini Mayfair declared SORN till 29 02 2008 848 CRY - licence due 01 05 08 619 DXX was the black hardtop E-type, DVLA says taxed till end Nov '08. 163 ELT - also taxed till end Nov So perhaps they didn't trash as many cars as it would appear in the film!! Richard
They certainly didn't trash the Aston. Before After It's actually a Lancia (I think) mocked up to look like the Aston Martin. It's not a bad job but it's a left hooker with a different colour of interior and a completely different style of number plate.
