Popular Post Cavcraft
Actually went to a car dealer today to purchase a vehicle. Melodious Ham Burger wins the prize for guessing the sales place correctly. Had seen it there a couple of weeks back when dropping a part off, but the owner wasn't about. Spoke briefly to his mum about it, proper nice little lady who said he'd had it a while. Anyhow, FFWD to yesterday and whilst picking a van up from a local garage, the Sierra was in there having an MOT. Spoke to the lad doing the test (mate of a mate) who mentioned it was for sale and the price would depend on the MOT result. Went back to the testing place after work to see how it got on (and ask the tester's view on general condition) and it had passed with 4 or 5 advisories I think he said, and also mentioned it was rock solid underneath. Anyhow, went straight from there to the car dealer's before he shut, took a test drive and left a deposit. Cycled into work today, awaited hearing back from the seller to say he'd bought the paperwork in, then went down about 2.00pm to collect it. On dinner so just have some pictures for now... Been round the clock, but it's very tidy for the age. cort1977, taxi paul, Six-cylinder and 60 others

Cavcraft
CVH, I think Drives a treat to be fair, the only real thing of note was that the PO left it outside one night and the boot got caught by an HGV dome

It's only about 12 years ago I used to walk past one most days, round the corner from work! It belonged to a painter/decorator so you can imagine what the back bumper looked like! Also, I spotted a pair the other week, with a Rover 75... they're still in the same spot and looking unlikely to move without Hiab assistance. I have seen a few Sierra saloons kicking about. Cavcraft and eddyramrod

wesacosa
I ran a 1.8 CVH as my daily for about 3 or 4 years, about 10 years ago. Not too many fans of the CVH out there but mine ran great. Went all over in it , including a tour around france and didn't miss a beat until the HG eventually gave up. Lovely car, well done Cavcraft

NorfolkNWeigh
I’ve lost count of the number of Sierras I’ve owned let alone driven as company cars, hire cars etc. I know the first one was 24th of Feb 1983 because the hiring of a1.6 L 4 speed was my 19th birthday present . The last one I owned was in about 2003 an immaculate K reg 2.0 GLSi in white. Over those 20 years I drove every variant from 1300 OHC to a Sapphire 4x4 Cosworth My favourite was a 2.9i Ghia 4x4 Estate , I’d rather have one than a Cossie. Theres nothing wrong with a CVH, they went as well as a 2.0 carb Pinto and were better on fuel than a 1.6 . The only estate I ever owned was a 1.8 GL Pinto with a Business pack and was awful, this one looks nice and I’d be interested if it’s going straight up for sale . But remember CVHs are shit and worthless. Jerzy Woking, Cavcraft, Joey spud and 3 others 3

lisbon_road
Looks good. Keep it original, it'll be the exception. CVH engines don't seem to last well but (IMHO) if you have a decent one, they are just fine. Cavcraft and Joey spud

beko1987
I used to see more estates in that colour than any other Sierra in the mid 90s growing up! A mates dad had an identical one to that! Winter barge or white room planned? Cavcraft
