I think it was early 2016 so it was either the hateful Corsa Expression of disappointment or the Hyundai Getz that my sister now has. Things got better when the Maxi came along later that year, and then as now the faithful Zafira was the family wagon.

Wow, I didn't realise I had been a member for so long (time flies when you're having fun), and had been without proper shite for almost five years before the Maxi arrived! I would have been driving the Corsa then and about to start my undergrad degree in January. The Zafira was the main family car, bought at 3 years old and still here 18 years later. I think the reason I thought it was 2016 is that was when I attended my first AS event (Shitefest 16 at the Field of Dreams) and actually met some other members in the flesh.

Late 2015 for me, found out when @Supernaut said about it and we went down to Crail on a cold & wet Sunday in the latter part of the year to meet a few of you. At the time my main two cars were "Little & Large"...

Little being the Crappo...

Large being the LS400...

Ah, they were good times.

I think they call it Karma!

2 weeks after joining Autoshite I bought a six year old Range Rover. Some things you just don’t talk about on here!

3 weeks after I joined in Dec 2010 we got proper snow, now feeling smug as I had 3 Range Rovers. My original 1985, a 1997 4.6 HSE and a beautiful young TD6 Vogue.

Guess what, the TD6 would not start while the 1997 and 1985 did. Turns out the TD6 had an injector fault. We just had to wait until it warmed up enough to get the TD6 started and get it to a diesel specialist.

I had advertised the P38 Range Rover now I had a replacement and come the snow I was fighting them off to buy my 16 mpg Range Rover that I thought would be hard to sell.

So now just one 25 year old Range Rover to keep us mobile and of course it did a great job helped by its nearly new BF Goodrich mud tyres.

I joined the forum in March 2010 (crikey, 10 years!). I actually didn't have a car at that moment, having crashed my SEAT Ibiza and I was at a pretty low ebb at that time. However, I acquired this on April 1st:

1994 Ford Escort 1.8 LD diesel

Photo taken shortly after frisbeeing the 'Escort Bonus' wheel trims. It behaved much better than it looked.

Late 2011 my daily driver was the Volvo 940 estate in the background here with my DS Safari (now sold). Actually I think I joined the forum before this, did the dates get reset with a server change or something?

Citroen DS21 Safari

We owned the two DSs the 23efi Pallas and the Safari

2Cits-2

and the "Peugeot of last resort" pictured here on the border between France and Spain. It was supposed to be a touring holiday in the blue DS but we only got a couple of miles down the road from home before I crashed it into the back of a Sprinter van queuing  for the roundabout. Mrs Driver hitched a lift home to get another car so we could still catch the Portsmouth ferry whilst I arrange for the DS to be taken to Pallas Auto for repair. Our other cars had been locked away in the barn as we wouldn't need them whilst on holiday so this was the one she came back with.

I bought mine from the second owner, and the PO to him was Land Rover. Going on the registration number sequence it would be too much of a coincidence. When I get around to doing my filing, I will check the paperwork and get details (fairly sure the original purchase receipt is in there) and will get back to you.

In April 2015 I used a Citroen C4 VTS 180 to commute 70 mile round trip and had Citroen XM V6 as a spare car. Mrs Concern had Mk1 Clio.

On 1st March I went to Lewes just down the road from home in the XM and when I returned to it, there was a 2CV Dolly parked next to it.

Later I saw a post on some forum I frequented (FCF?) with a photo of my XM and the 2CV which told me it had been put on Facebook by Dollywobbler of AS. Naturally I joined that evening!

The C4 VTS was written off later, repaired badly and eventually scrapped. I swapped the XM for a Renault Moodus (she still has it) to replace Mrs Concern’s Clio which had died from timing belt failure.

I replaced the C4 VTS with an identical one previousy owned by @Daviemck2006 now owned by my youngest daughter.

I first discovered autoshite after my purchase of a  Vauxhall 2300s which I had bought to replace my modern Audi as a daily driver. I was really fed up  with modern cars and eml lights so went back to basics.

I was alerted to the fact that I was being talked about on this forum as some tosser with too much money buying a low mileage classic and using it daily.  Well all those things are probably right but I am also a long time chod botherer as well.

I did use the Vauxhall as a daily for a couple of years but although I loved it I do like Autos so bought myself a Princess ( I also seem to have a strange fetish for Velour as well) this however needed a fair amount of welding and mechanical work to put it back on the road.
