MKT
Thought I'd start a fleet thread to document the car stuff I've been getting up to, as well as a place to post the spots I've taken. The 'fleet' currently consists of four cars. 2000 Honda CR-V LS This has been in the family since new (my earliest memory is going to buy it with my parents from Derek Warwick Southampton in Feb 2000!), it's nearly on 142k miles now and still going on the original clutch. The temp gauge is temperamental, the passenger window won't go up properly and the first signs of rot are starting to creep in but it's in pretty good condition all things considered. 1995 Honda Civic ESi (EG5) The EG Civic has always been my dream car and I finally managed to pick up a decent spec unmolested one in the Summer. It needs some work and a fair bit of welding to get back on the road but progress towards this is being made (albeit slowly). I'll post a bit more about how that's going later, for now have the front plate. 2003 MG ZR 160 My stage rally car, bought for £2650 ready to rally, intercom and all, back in March 2018. I've competed in a couple of events since then and will hopefully be back out competing in December (budget and COVID permitting). 2014 Hyundai i20 Active Not really Autoshite material (yet!) so I won't focus on it too much, but this shares daily duties with the CR-V. Goes well for a little 1250cc hatchback, handles well and has been very reliable whilst getting good MPG (60 if I really try) so it's rather endeared itself to me. Excuse the photo, my friend took it and I don't have any normal one's I've taken myself! My work takes me all over the south east and sometimes even further afield, so I've had a couple of decent opportunities for some spots too, I'll leave you with these for now. I'll post a bit more about the Civic tomorrow. outlaw118, LightBulbFun, theshadow and 10 others
Faker
Nice collection. EG civics are magnificent. Used to have a wee group n one back in the day (almost 20 years ago)... MGzr do make a bloody decent entry level rally car! 1.4 with almost 100hp. Fair play. I've a few competition cars myself, and hope to get back out again soon. Present fleet is something like 22 vehicles... Nova I've had almost 20 years and it's as it is in the photo. White samba is mint. Blue samba has had a bad shunt, red white and blue 106 is fantastic and has been in storage for almost 20 years. Other 106 (number 30 - pic from 1994) is a bit of a basket case now and needs a lot of work Edited September 22, 2020 by Faker Add pic davehedgehog31, Essex V6, MKT and 2 others

ZRs are great rally cars, it's rather telling that there's still so many of them still out competing as opposed to a lot of the cars that were being produced around the same time. The 1,4 105s do vastly outnumber the few of us in 160s (and the one guy with a 120) though, largely due to the fact that 1800cc cars don't really sit properly in any of the classes. You got any plans to go out competing soon? In other news I spotted this really nice MK1 Punto GT whilst working today, must be the first one I've seen in at least five years! A few of the other spots. Mondeo with the usual rear bumper in a state. 2 door MK3 Cortina, think it was a GXL? Rover 214 Si crad

Hopefully get out over the winter for an outing... but definitely going to return to the sport in some form next year. MKT

Be good to hear about what you get up to, lots of good events over in NI, I have the Circuit on my list of must do events. Faker
MKT
Some more recent spots, rather chuffed with this mk1 Golf van! Nice old Landy hidden round the back of a very large distribution centre that I was working on. ' MK1 Accent just off the north circular. A very original CR-X EE8 (B16A1 powered) next to a park. howe, crad and Schaefft

I did hear of a Mk3 being made with 3 doors by mistake. Apparently it was less hassle to finish it than extract it out of the production line when they realised the left side didn’t match the right side. So I was told by someone who knew someone who was there. Must be true then. crad

MKT
CR-V passed it's MOT with one advisory (Front Anti-roll bush) which has now been rectified anyway. The source of a leak has been found and sorted, a rubber grommet for the bonnet pull had perished and was letting water in. Stripping down on the civic for welding and rebuild is also very nearly complete, so hoping to have it solid by next summer. During stripping down I found that one of the sun roof drainpipes had not been put back in after a previous owner attempted/paid for an incredibly poor o/s/r arch replacement. Needless to say that corner of the car is in the worst condition... The stage rally I was hoping to do at the end of the year is, unsurprisingly, not going ahead so this'll be my first year without competing for a while. I'll finish this off with a couple more spots. Nice old diesel MK3 Cav GLS, very pleasantly surprised to see it passed its MOT last week, 100,330 miles. AE111 Levin, probably the first one I've seen over here. howe

MKT
Few more recent spots Nice little Metro. Mitsubishi FTO Polo Breadvan GT 205 GLD, came back the next day and the wheel was on, someone came out of the house next to it in full RAF uniform and got in it. They then proceeded to drive off leaving a huge trail of black smoke behind them. howe, Dick Longbridge and mercedade
MKT
Not much to report on the civic front, replacement panels for the car have arrived and welding will happen in the spring. Only change of note is that I decided to replace the clear corner lenses with orange ones as I feel it contrasts better with the dark blue paint. A lot more work has happened on the ZR, brand new seat mounts, new wheel bearing on the o/s/r, new discs and pads on the back and a set of coils, leads and plugs seem to have cured a consistent and rather nasty misfire. Took it out for a little trip to celebrate. In terms of competing there's not much going on at the moment, though I've tentatively decided to try and have a go at doing the RAC (Roger Albert Clark) Rally in 2023. Finally a few more recent-ish spots. howe and Schaefft
MKT
Travelled up to Paul Townsend Honda Spares yesterday to collect some bits, would recommend him if you've got a 5th/6th gen civic or a 3rd gen teggy. Came away with some panels and brackets, JDM DC2 motor and the OEM Sport body kit for the civic, properly chuffed to get the body kit since it seems next to no one optioned them for the hatchback at the time. Quality* photo of the kit, bottom lip is for a different car. And here's how it looks on the car in the Honda Accessory (note the leather seats, a UK exclusive AFAIK) brochure at the time. The amount of optional extras you could get for the 5th gen civic is mind boggling, I think the German market offered something ridiculous like 10 optional types of steering wheel! MKT
So a brief fleet update: The ZR spent about a month in decent mechanical fettle before the alternator decided to stop playing ball. It'll be getting fixed once the Civic is done as there's no events for me to do this year. Got the full set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s on there now too which makes it look a bit smarter. Friend had the film photos he took down at Portsmouth developed, proves you can polish a turd. The Civic has now been fully stripped and gone off to be welded, no idea how long it'll be there for but probably a while! Only other thing is that the exhaust fell off the CRV and has since been replaced. I'd post some decent spots I'd seen recently but my PC kindly decided to die so I don't have access to the spots folder at the moment. theshadow and Mr Laurence 1

Schaefft
That Civic should turn out amazing, the fact that it won't have white indicators alone gets me excited! How much welding does it need? MKT

How much welding does it need? Thanks, hopefully it'll look decent when it's finally finished! It needs arches, sills, a bit on the o/s/r quarter and a whole bunch on the rear floor, it didn't look too bad until everything came off. Could have probably got a better condition one for the price in the end but now I've got it stuck in my head that I need to save the car.
Schaefft
Makes sense, somewhat similar situation I find myself in. Have you received a quote for how much this amount of welding would cost?
