spartacus
There were loads of pristine/restored cars, but this is how most of us probably remember old Ford's. No, your eyes do not deceive you, that really is a VW bay window camper with what looks like a caravan badly nailed on to the rear. I'm sure an expert will be along shortly to tell me it's a very rare and special conversion but for now I'm happy to believe it's something knocked up in an ageing enthusiasts back yard. A little too 'Blue Forum' for me, but it was a 2300, and my granddad had a two door with a whining diff when I was young, so I took a pic. Paging @eddyramrod One for the 'Modern Section' frequenters. paulplom, Amishtat, eddyramrod and 2 others

spartacus
Mrs Spart really, really wants one of these... I took this picture mainly because I've been reminded of these by a thread on 'the blue', the OP was the buyer of a very clean Proton? he then proceeded to make it look like a Toyota featured in a game or comic, let something along those lines, I'm sure it was discussed on here at some point. Corr! I wanted one off these for my first car. Period mods too. A work in progress. I used to have visions of doing the school run in something like this but I think that boat has sailed now, sadly. More school run fodder. Shite Ron, eddyramrod and paulplom
spartacus
It was. I found out by chance, driving back from Mrs Sparts place this morning I saw a Lancia Beta Monte Carlo and a Lancia Delta on the road, I took a lucky guess at where the show was and got it right! As I got it of my Panda in the car park a guy started chatting to me and it turned out he has a Panda too! Mrs Spart was at work today, although she's happy to go to shows like this I felt less guilty about wandering around aimlessly and studying twin carb set ups etc. mk2_craig and Grumblespeed
spartacus
Dashboard on an old Jag, maybe a mk10? Actual sign writing, done with a brush, and presumably one of those sticks with a soft ball on the end, to keep your hand steady. Old giffers always seem to get misty eyed talking about these, "my Gladys used to love it with two in front and one behind", etc etc. eddyramrod
spartacus
This NSX was a really deep shade of purple, it looked clean, but not pampered, I'm hoping it's driven as intended. One for @Cavcraft, I reckon. These were a proper weapon back in the day. Cavcraft and NorfolkNWeigh
spartacus
I like these. These are odd looking little things, I've got a hankering for a small sports car, this would probably fit the bill, I should have taken a rear 3/4 pic, the owner had done some two tone painting that went some way to hiding the strange proportions. Photo skills... Spart senior had one of these in manual flavour about 30 years ago, I was king of the local boy racers when my folks went away and I could use it at will! One of these was in the arena and the m/c, (who sounded for all the world like Tony Robinson), actually said, "Princess Anne had one of these", I imagined a collective groan of there had been an AS continent present. @Schaefft was there too... spartacus
Hockey stick lights ftw. Manta rally rep was spoilt by modern seats, although I guess they could be necessary for competitive historic events. A 20 yard car, painted with an old cheap brush I think. Still would though, I like the three seat abreast idea. Low fat 3.6... Full fat, V12, only masochists need apply... @Zelandeth I thought of you with admiration and pity in equal measures when I gazed in here. spartacus
More school run delight. @TheDoctor, one for you I think. These used to be everywhere. OMG! Look at this! I'm going to guess it originally came from Farmers Garage at Matlock, who, ironically, used to sell stacks of Subaru's to farmers in the Peak District. Phoar! I really, really wanted one of these, even a regular Delta is a good looking car but these are teh sex. Mk2 Escort with period mods, although I think Revolution four spoke wheels would be more correct. Last pic and last boring anecdote for tonight. My dad had a mk 2 Granada in this colour, a 2.8i. It was one of his favourite cars, it must have made an impression on me too, I can still remember the reg, UCE171S. He had it new and after a ride in it, one of his friends took a 3.0 Capri back to a dealer, complaining that it was slow! Thanks for watching! doubleyeller
A day out in scab's county And not even an old Renner in sight I'd rather stick pins in my eyes personally However I hope the trip afforded you some pleasure
Macscrooge
Avenger Tiger! I remember lusting after the one in Stout Bros showroom at Abernyte in Perthshire in the ‘70s. My dad had a poo brown 1500 Super.... spartacus

skoda_fan
Er, a car show?? Thought they weren't allowed?? All the usual ones around here have been cancelled this year.
spartacus
Good to meet you Andrew, result on signing up, life will never be the same! @skoda_fan, who knows, I took a look on the website before I went, imagining I would have to pre-book a ticket. It said I could buy one at the gate but would have to leave contact details. In the end I just gave my money, took my ticket and walked in. With regards to the current regulations it did seem pretty slack but I'm not going to complain. mk2_craig and Grumblespeed
Grumblespeed
Yup. Must supply track & trace details on entry, everybody must wear a face covering on site..... only nobody was bothering with any of that from the organisers or attendees point of view. All felt a bit gung ho in the current climate but out in an open field you sort of hoped we'd all get away with it. Good day out though and the traders were still obviously selling stuff they've had tucked away in lockups since last year so I probably saved the price of entry buying a box of gloves for the garage that have mysteriously tripled in price everywhere else recently.
