it's okay there's one on each side to guarantee failure.

And the control unit, or maybe the button. Just for fun the steering column control units like to fail too, any of which immobilise the car. No thanks

Just been to look at this , the pictures flatter it a bit,  it’s filthy and the paint needs a good machine polish, Drivers seats a bit torn and the wheels are the most corroded I’ve ever seen- but it’s got a lot of potential . I left him with a cheeky £700 bid and I think he’s already called me from a landline in Windsor I don’t recognise,.So, watch this space.

GS300 - hardly low liability!

If you told me I would have to drive from the tip of Scotland to southern Italy and I'd have to do it in a sub-£1000 car, I'd be buying the GS300 every single time over absolutely anything else other than possibly a V70 with the NASP 2.4.

42,000 miles old school 1.9 tdi. up for 1795 but with best offer so 1500 is realistic .

Worth it?

Both of those would go on forever.

I bought a seriously rough Leon with many miles on it and it generally plodded on quite quickly for 40-50k without any non self inflicted majors. Don't rot either.

A 2.0d avensis, about 05 plate will plod on forever.

Surely this fred is about low cost, small engines, low tax and cheapo insurance.

I'm not sure a Lexarse fits that bill?

Japanese Mercedes ain't it?

Doesn't matter the size of engine/insurance/tax etc

It's all about 2 criteria:

1. Is it cheap? (Either outright cheap or cheap for year)

2. Will it be reliable and not throw up big issues?

That lexus is Bob on.

Japanese engineering, legendary straight 6. Sub £1000.

Even if insurance is £500 and tax another £300,

That's you in an executive express for less than 4 months rental on a new one.

And it'll last the year. Effectively 8 months free motoring if you use finest man maths🤣

Absolute MEGA SPEC Civic diesel. Service history, MOT until March. Leather, satnav, glass roof etc.

I should really go and buy this for Mrs C and put the Leon out to pasture but it keeps passing MOT's
