Robson3022
Climbed Helvellyn yesterday so the party bus got its first outing as a camper. Performed marvellously and works well as a camper. Need to make a few tweaks to make life easier. Did check the oil before I left and had to top it up. The plan was always to sell this at the end of the Summer but Mrs Robson3022 who professed to hate it now loves it and wants to go away every weekend!!! Looks like it’s staying. Robson3022
I’m really falling in love with this thing. It’s been earning its keep the last couple of days collecting wood then moving some furniture for a friend. Sleeping in it again tonight so will tweak the set up a little from last time as I think I had the seats the wrong way round which created a little lump in the middle. Need to order a service kit for it and considering doing discs and pads. Not sure what oil to use as the inter webs says 5/30 fully synthetic but I’m not so sure.... outlaw118, dome, aldo135 and 6 others

Robson3022
Have you ever found yourself asking. What is better than a Nissan Elgrand? The answer is 2 Nissan Elgrands!!! Delivered by our own @worldofceriat a great price I’m now the proud owner of two of these!!! it needs an alternator belt which I have no idea how to do so I’m looking for a mobile mechanic. I’d like to do this myself but there aren’t any resources anywhere that I can find to help! Then it wants an MOT and I’ll decide what to do with it! worldofceri
So, I turned up at the seller's house and he reckons it might start with a jump, so I stick the jump leads on. Success: It runs! But by the time I'd unhooked the leads and stowed them it had died again. So I reattach the cables and... Success: It runs! But by the time I'd unhooked the leads and... You get the idea. Nearly went through this charade three times before remembering Einstein's (attributed) definition of insanity. Noticed that the alternator wasn't spinning and furthermore, wasn't connected to anything that might cause it to spin. Oh well, better get the winch out then. Can't imagine the belt would be too hard to fit. Access looks reasonably good, although I think you might have to remove another belt first. Which means I need to take the fan off doesn’t it?
Robson3022
First thing I tried to fix on the new/old Elgrand. Key remote locked but button was missing for the unlock. Ordered a new one from eBay but the micro switch was also borked so I’ve ordered a new one. Key looks much better now though! The smell and merm in it was disgusting! 500tops, rainagain and worldofceri

Robson3022
It lives!!!! Glad I didn’t do it myself as it chucked up some issues and I’d have been stuck. Seems to run pretty well. Looks like it could do with a thermostat change and a heat shield securing underneath as there’s an unusual rattle. A bit of wheel vibration when driving and it’s minging inside. Going to take a few bits of interior trim for mine, MOT and pass it on I think. I did consider making it into a camper but what’s the point in having 2! Happy the alternator isn’t borked. worldofceri, TomW86, paulplom and 2 others
Robson3022
Did the pads on this today in my ongoing quest to do my own work. Don’t know why I don’t do this whenever stuff is needed. It’s a 40 minute job (that obviously took me an hour and an half). I need to sort a wheel brace and jack for this if anyone has something suitable? theshadow and Cookiesouwest
Robson3022
So this was for sale as I’ve agreed to buy something so wanted to free some cash and space up. I have the other one in getting a little work done so thought I’d move this one on. Spending the night away in it was a terrible idea! It’s not going anywhere now.......look at it man! stripped fred

Robson3022
Sooooo I have 2 poorly Elgrand. The white one is still with the garage. I’m not sure what work has or hasn’t been done but I know he’s had a bit of personal stuff going on but I need to chase it up this week. It wasn’t looking too bad so hopefully it’s nearly ready! The petrol one has a oil pressure switch issue I hope. So I need to get that looked at this week. I needed something to use this weekend so went out and got this!!! It’s a 2001 with 68,000 miles and test till February. It goes really well and did it’s job perfectly this weekend. spartacus
