BorniteIdentity
I love these tourers- they have zero air of lifestyle about them which is weird, but most welcome. I still reckon I’d have gone for the free BX - as much as I love these.
LightBulbFun
ohh nice! for some reason you dont really see that many rover estates from this time period, so its neat to see one

Zelandeth
Biggest clue would be hissing noises and/or black smoke under load. Actually taking a look should be pretty informative... it's basically just a radiator at the end of the day. Damage from that sort of impact should be pretty obvious. I needed a daily I'm afraid, so a project was out of the question. This has a year's test, so no immediate worries. (touch wood. Oh crap, hope that wood has been disinfected!) Andyrew
Looking at that picture I'm guessing the number plate screws go into the bumper bar behind. If undone that bumper might pop out as is. DoctorRetro

Cheezey
Nice purchase. I liked your 218 as well, looked a fun project. This looks a good candidate for a funky paint job - dazzle camouflage?
BlankFrank
Chuck a boost gauge on it, turn up the fuel pump and bleed valve the turbo wastegate. ? As an added bonus the gauge will tell you if it's losing boost pressure out of any possible intercooler damage. scdan4

I fixed the broken one using an inner ring from a Clio wheel trim during my brief tenure but spares might be handy. vulgalour
At least the front bumper is super easy to remove on these. As a car to just use and be practical, it's a pretty good choice. Best of all, no need to worry about tarting it up. Hope it looks after you. DoctorRetro
